I think they're both as important as each other. You need both if you want to be a decent all round fighter
    Heavybag drills rosstraining
    3 x 3-minute rounds ?Skill emphasis
    4 x 1-minute power boxing
    5 x 30-second punch out drills
You can look at it in two ways. What happens if you take a guy who can throw like 3 punches to another's 1 and has **** technique , hands low chin up or the guy who hasnt got the intensity but decent technique who can't keep the pace .Both could be in trouble if they fight

      Hatton had intensity
      Mayweather had technique.

To me intensity is no good if you don't have the technique to apply it. You can have intesnity and ultimately be poor. It's about being effective.

I think intensity is extremely important. A very intense fighter can overwhelm many opponents but once the competition level goes up they may have a hard time against someone who's just brilliant technically. Ricky Hatton for example. I think a fighter with technique, defense, head movement, etc will last longer and go farther than a fighter who is intense but not as technically skilled. You put them together you have a monster. Take Pacquiao. Early on he was super intense but not a very good technical fighter and now he's putting the technical part together and has become a truly special fighter.

I value technique first. If your a beginner and just focus on intensity.... your going nowhere fast.

Technique then intensity. I rather have a quiet guy with perfect technique than a roughneck with no technique.

I agree with flicker. Anyone can have intensity its not a skill. If you have good technique the trainers seem to notice you more, than if your just screaming and punching bag as hard as you can all wide and sloppy.

I'm biased, because it's how I am, but I think power and a little technique is better than alot of technique and a little power.

Power, speed, and lots of stamina will always overcome a technical boxer, it's just that most fast punchers lack the stamina to keep up a kosher workrate, while technical fighters can ration their stamina with their matador-esque skills.

a good hard punching boxer who's fast with lots of stamina and at least a decent chin, is something to fear.
                Heard of Manny PACquiao??

well then, you can put "fucking idiot" right beside "biased" on your (probably long) list of faults

technique beats raw power and speed every time, ive seen it in the gym, ive seen it in fights....no matter how hard or how fast you can punch, if you dont have much technique and you are in there with a guy who has good technique you will lose , unless you pull off a freakish one punch ko

you remind of that ****** "stormin' norman" who also listed his location as Baton Rogue, Louisiana......

if you are his alt, GTFO of this forum you are a disgrace

oh, well it turns out stormin norman said his location was denham springs and not baton rogue, my mistake

although that dynamite ****** seems a whole lot like him

are you a ******? Intensity isn't just how hard you hit or how fast you hit. Its how many times you go to the gym, How much you practice at home. getting up at 5 to go running, working the bag till your knuckles bleed, spending 2 hours sparring so you can perfect a counter. Every single aspect of what you do has some intensity behind it. Your not going to get good technique with out some intense days at the gym. and your definitely not going to get better at your own techniques then every one else at theirs unless your putting in an intense day everyday.

Technique should be their so you have some thing that you can do with your intensity but you will never have good technique with out intensity.
