Probably a fairly simple win for Usyk. Most likely UD but maybe late stoppage. Yes we know Wilder can crack but out of the four genuinely elite level guys hes fought he managed to beat one of them. Usyk has fought his share of big hitters and come out on top.

Its partly because of AJs decline, he was the golden goose and elevated Matchrooms profile for casuals. Its also going all in on DAZN and trying to break America which caused them to lose the grip they had on their core market....

Be careful what you wish for. If Teo turns up on form he most likely beats Devin....

I would have liked to have seen Joe get a big money fight with Fury, AJ, Wilder or Usyk a few years back before he got derailed. AJ and Wilder would have been winnable fights for him and tbh even Fury on an off night could have had a very tough time. Alas that ship has sailed. He was late to the pro...

I'm not a fan of constant rematches typically but in this instance what else is there for either guy really? Fisher is pretty much done after this and while Allen won what step up name could you put him in with and realistically not have him just get battered? I feel like even a past it Del Boy would...Last edited by TMLT87; Yesterday, 08:22 AM.MarbleFallsMauler

Yeah it was obvious Fisher didnt have a super high ceiling, but struggling the way he did with ****ing Allen, a probably past prime one at that? seems the ceiling is significantly lower than expected....

Usyk is a solidified ATG but he is also 38 years old and not a very big HW. Dubois is in his absolute physical prime and has also accumulated a lot of experience against good opponents for his age. I think Usyk will pull it off again but if he doesnt then a lot of it comes down to it being a fighter...

Canelo vs Benavidez/Bud would definitely be bigger in America but I dunno about globally. I feel like the boxing scene has fragmented into being more regional in a post-Floyd world....Corelone likes this.

I cant remember the exact situation but wasnt there some kind of weird stipulations like he had to sign the contract within 24 hours or some **** like that? around 2018ish? from what I remember there was a contract offer from Wilders side where it just seemed like games were being played and it was...

The whole "who ducked who" schtick can go on forever without anyone really knowing for sure.
What we DO know is AJ stepped up much quicker in his career and consistently fought top 10 level guys while Wilder spent a decade beating up cans in obscurity in Alabama before finally...BoxOfficer likes this.

When you lay it out Joyce clearly has the better wins, but it still somehow feels kind of instinctively wrong putting him ahead of Wilder. I guess its because Wilder held onto a belt for years even though of course there was a fair bit of smoke and mirrors involved in that. Joyce was never in the discussion...

Wilder never had any real drawing power or an aura of invincibility to begin with. People didnt give a **** even when he was going on for years and years undefeated.
I'm not sure what you mean by "believe the hype" regarding AJ. You dont have to be an AJ fanboy or think hes going...

Ryan Garcia could have been the biggest star since Floyd if only he had a fraction of the actual in ring talent and wasnt a headcase.
But anyway guys like Benavidez, Boots, Ortiz, Teo, Shakur and Haney still have the time to grow in star power if the right fights and circumstances come...

What is it with this weird bitterness over UK fans actually supporting boxing on a commercial level? it comes across like sour g****s.
And stuff like AJ vs Dubois and Usyk is not "anything", those are major HW fights and completely worthy of attention. Stuff like the Helenius...

Steve Cunningham and an MMA guy making his boxing debut dropped Fury too. Not saying Wilder isnt a big hitter, but I think its fair to say that the Wilder fights really flattered Fury and made him look much better than he really is....TheProudLunatic

I dont know if he ever really was the face of boxing internationally. Definitely in America but I feel like AJ, Fury and in more recent years Usyk were much bigger in Europe at least. Its not like the days of Floyd and Pac where they were clearly the two biggest boxing stars everywhere on the planet....

Its a combination of having good power, being tall and rangey, solid athleticism and fighting weak opposition....
