    Ohara Davies vs Josh Taylor

Cracking match up between two very talented prospects. July 8th in Glasgow, Taylor's backyard.

Who do you think takes it?

Taylor the more experienced with his long amateur background. Surely the favourite.

    Anyone picking Davies?

Massive credit to both boxers and teams for making this fight early in their careers.

Just had a quick nose at the odds.
      Taylor : 4/6
      Davies : 5/4

      Looking forward to this one

Davies looked awful against Scarpa.. slow and one paced. Yet he looked good against Matthews, but Matthews was completely shiot and moving up in weight. I really don't think Davies is a good some people claim here, and he's being thrown to the wolves here, Taylor will batter him.

Taylor's looked more than good as a pro to be fair got fantastic accuracy. However similar to the Scarpa display, he didn't look up for it against Alfonso. It's easy for me to say from my keyboard, it was still a UD.

I'll be picking Ohara for this bout. I'll give respect to the amateur system but over my years watching Boxing not every great Boxer has come from the amateur conveyor belt. My thing with Taylor is that people think the Commonwealth Gold equates the World's or Olympics. Sometimes the amateur system could churn out a Anthony Ogogo who achieved more than Taylor amateur wise.

Ohara can fight, he's been well schooled himself in a sense. He's known in the famous East/South London gyms such as Pea****s and Miguels. Spent some of his youth under Tunde Ajayi (Anthony Yarde trainer) a good up & coming trainer. Been to the Mayweather gym also & impressed. All of this is evident in his style in the ring & he has hardly put a foot wrong so far. I think you could label what I'm saying 'blind faith'. However the bookies have it close & I think that's the type of fight that will play out.

I don't see Davies as the underdog here, I think he beats Taylor.

I think Taylor will get the better of O'hara into the late rounds of a competitive fight, only for O'hara to rally late and get a stoppage. Maybe Taylor is smart enough to avoid anything big but i have a feeling O'hara's power will bail him out.

This is the 2017 version of Eubank vs Billy Joe & Groves vs De Gale. Both underdogs ended up out Boxing the favorite. Taylor is well schooled like BJS was, so many intangibles in this fight.

Interesting. Davies certainly has something about him. He is a more basic fighter than Taylor, but Ohara seems like a bit of freak in how hes built. Kind of like a short Tommy Hearns with those long lean muscles and orangutan arms. His seems very relaxed and confident where Taylor can rush his work at times and smother himself a bit.

I just think at this stage Taylors experience in the Ams and the variety in his work will be too much. Davies is a late starter to boxing and i think it will show a bit this fight.
