I thought the Arturo Gatti fight was Floyd’s most spectacular performance. The combos he was hitting Gatti with were dazzling.

Gatti had the same vulnerabilities as Chico. They presented the absolute perfect style for Floyd, flat foot, right there to be hit and no defense.

Paul Williams not so much .

I think Bud should just retire. It's been too long in between fights and Canelo doesn't seem to have any interest in fighting him. Bud versus Fundora would have been a fun match. By the way, for anyone fighting Fundora, I'd pound the hell out of those elbows and arms. An uppercut to his elbow area and punches right at his wrist and forearms. At any rate, thanks for the ride, Bud, and it's time to say good-bye.

So it's the white guy, the Japanese guy followed by the red head Mexican and then the quiet dark complected guy. Kind of funny how that worked out....no?

No ! Instead of an insinuation why don't you man up and say exactly what you mean. Did you not see it is only my humble opinion. Why are you triggered ? Are you a fanboi ? I judge only by resume and eyes. Not skin color like you.

You missed that Canelo and Bud is a done deal for September?

Lance Pugmire I'm the last person to begrudge Crawford a payday. I've been a fan of his for years and picked him to beat Spence. But I also think picking Crawford to win is disrespectful to Canelo, and unreasonable to boot. There was some important context from that comment you left out, notably that certain other posters were talking about how he's going to win easily. My comment was made to point out that IF Crawford were capable of easily beating Canelo, he'd ALSO be able to easily beat lesser fighters like Fundora and Murtazaliev, and that doing so would have cemented his place in history. In reality, he was lucky to get the win vs Madrimov (who I think highly of), and I'm confident that he realized that those last belts at 154 weren't going to be easy.

Canelo's two losses both show that one needs volume and accuracy to win. Vs Mayweather, Floyd threw over 500 punches and landed nearly half of them. Alvarez isn't as easy to hit anymore either; he was a little too green for the likes of Mayweather, although that shouldn't diminish the value of that win for Floyd. Bivol threw over 700 punches if memory serves, and landed at a comparatively high rate. Crawford, in contrast, rarely throws over 450 punches across 12 rounds. He threw barely more than 400 vs Madrimov. Are we to expect that he's going to open up more vs Canelo than vs Madrimov? I grant you, the herky jerky movement of Madrimov might have had something to do with that, but Bud has always been economical with punches, and his power has been what's bailed him out of losing rounds at welterweight. I don't see how it's feasible for that to be true against Canelo at 168, who has taken flush shots from huge punchers who are bigger than Bud, and hasn't been so much as dropped. Canelo is the bigger man, and, despite how few punches Canelo throws vs the usual opponents he's faced lately, he still has a higher work rate than Bud. Canelo may have problems against high level movers, but if they're not landing more and better punches, he's much more likely to get the nod from the judges.

I'm not really expecting him to knockout Bud. He hasn't been able to knockout anyone in years. But I don't see how this isn't a cash out fight for Bud. Bud may genuinely think he can win, but just moving about and throwing uncharacteristic numbers of punches is going to be way harder with 14 extra pounds on than he thinks, if he's not training it, or even if he is, and that's just going to reduce his output further. If he wins this, he's certainly going to be the new King in my book.

I thought I was being clear but maybe not. Crawford fought the willing and so far Crawford is 1 and 0 against two hand picked killers, both expected to knock him out. Crawford chose Canelo and time will tell if Terrance is as good as he aspires to be, but in either case I don't expect you or anyone else to give him his just dues.

Crawford is a former lightweight and history making two division unified world champion attempting to take on another P4P fighter that's multiple divisions bigger and still, you put Crawford in the back of the bus and not because he hasn't earned better, but because he is too dark complected and that seems to happen a lot around here.

                    Hows that, man enough?
