Why do you want added muscles? There's no need for that in boxing unless you have to get to a higher weight class. That would actually be good though. 130 lbs. at 5'10'' is gonna get you a good height advantage.

Seems weird that your trainer is making you do lots of conditioning and not skill and technique.

Lift weights, do pushups, situps, etc. But lifting weights will get you big. What you should do is buy a bag of protein which you can get anywhere, then lift some weights, by the way, it's better to do more reps less weight than lift more weight and less reps, anywayz, lift weights, then once youre done, right away you have to down a portein shake. Do this for about 5-6 weeks and you will have gained probably about 30% muscle around your body. After about 3-4 months, you should be pretty damn huge.

Speed e, I know exactly how you feel. I'm 135 and 5'9". Cardio will make you lose weight, AT FIRST. If you want to get into boxing, though, it has to be done. I hated the idea at first, and I shed about 3 or 4 pounds from sweating, but it comes back, I promise. No matter how fast your metabolism is, it'll come back. Muscle can be built on your frame and you can have good power for a tall lanky guy. I know from experience. Keep with what your doing and add in some weighted shoulder exercises and maybe some squats. The muscle will come.

Any protein is good, it doesn't really matter. Since you're going to to cardio 5 days a week, then lift weights three times a week like on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Except don't lift too much weight. Lift like 70 pounds or less with like three sets of twenty. But if you lift too much weight too much then your arms are going to get tired and you'll get too bulky which will make you more tired and unable to build much stamina. So remember this one rule for boxing. LESS WEIGHT, MORE REPS. If you do that along with cardio, you'll be in great shape. But I suggest lifting weights only two - three days a week if youre boxing because then you will get tired and will preform poorly in the ring. And don't lift weights on back to back days. One day yes, one day no. So not much weight but more reps, and not on back to back days. Remember to down the protein shake right after youre done lifting weights, your muscles are going to be tearing and the protein will replace torn muscle. I guarantee in three to four months you will have alot of muscle.
