I'm still having fun on my PS2

Pound for pound, the PS2 ranks as my #2 Greatest Console of All Time. (Coming in second to the almighty SNES.)

You'd be an idiot not to have this thing ranked in your top 3.

And I'm still having fun with the damn thing.

The library is so damn extensive, and the prices for the games now are dirt cheap. I'm having a lot of fun going back and picking up some of the titles I missed out on during the years I was more focused on building up my retro collection.

I'm currently almost finished with "Okami" and next up is "Final Fantasy XII".

My collection is up to 65 strong right now.

Word, i still have my ps2 connected, its the only console i own right now as i mostly play games on pc. But i recently finished resident evil 4 and Bully, got the devil may cry 3 triology for 10$ the other day because i had just finished dmc 4 and felt like revisiting these games. I don't have most of my games anymore, borrowed most of them.

    Here i got:

    dmc 1, 2 and 3
    Bully
    GTA san andreas
    Fight Night round 3
    Oni
    Grand Turismo 3
    Psy Ops
    The Bigs(baseball game)
    NHL 2k8
    Dark Cloud 1 & 2(Great action rpgs)
    Fatal Frame(Scariest game ever made)
    Metal Gear solid 2
    Manhunt
    Final Fantasy X

Thats pretty much it, i have/had about 20 more that i borrowed to friends.

Funny thing is, just this last year the ps2 was still outselling the ps3. To me the ps2 is the greatest console of all time with snes in second and dreamcast in third.

I agree but I have the ps2 #1 greatest console of all time.

I have to say that mine is retired though. I use my ps3 backwards compatibility and play ps1 and ps2 games.

hell yeah, that is definately a console seller though. every person who is into cars or remotely interested in tuning will pick that up and guess what? You need a ps3 to play.

My ranking of the SNES as #1 just dates back to my childhood.

As far as the worth of the library goes (and you must factor in all the PS1 titles youc an play on the PS2 as well), the PS2 slays the SNES in that department.

But overall, the SNES had a pretty big impact on my childhood, and kept me out of a lot of trouble. It also didn't hurt that some of the titles on it are still some of the best games around, and the music and atmostphere in some of those games are still classic and make me think back to when I was 6.

But yeah, the PS2 is a beast.

I can't count all my titles off hand, but this is what springs to mind that I know I've got.

              Ico
              Shadow of the Colossus
The Metal Gear Solid Collection (1, 2, and 3)
The Devil May Cry Collection (1, 2, and 3)
              Castlevania : Lament of Innocence
              Castlevania : Curse of Darkness
              Resident Evil : Code Veronica
              Resident Evil 4
              Final Fantasy XII
              Okami
Every Onimusha game (1, 2, 3, Blade Warriors, and Dawn of Dreams)
              Silent Hill 2
              Silent Hill 3
God of War 1 and 2
              Yakuza 1 and 2
              Spartan : Total Warrior
              Megaman X Collection
              A couple Splinter Cells
              2 Burnout games
All of the Fight Night games
              Shinobi
Genji : Dawn of the Samurai
              A few Dynasty Warrior games
God Hand (I'm one of few who loved this old school beat 'em up)
              Gran Turismo 3 and 4
GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas
That ****ty Alone in the Dark game (looked cool at the time, but it actually blows)

              And quite a few more.

I'm seriously lacking in RPG's though, so if anyone has any suggestions, let me hear 'em.

                  I'm with 'ya, son.

I'm more interested in the 360 for it's library of games, but that whole red ring **** makes it a no go IMO.

And the only titles on the PS3 I care about right now, are GOW3, Yakuza 3, and that new one being devolped by the team that did Ico and Colossus.

Other that those, I'm really not interested.

I'm content to beef up my PS2 collection some more.

Dark Cloud 1 & 2 are great, 2 being the best. It has so much going on, i never actually finished it. There is an invention system, you can just create new items/weapon by combining junk you find, items you can create are in the 1000's i beleive. You build towns as you want them as you progress. The most interesting stuff is that you create your own weapons by combining weapons you find as you play.

Honestly, zelda doesn't have **** on dark cloud 2.
