Rockstar is definitely up there. They always had guts and pushed the boundries of gaming. I still remember the fuss after the first Manhunt got out. That was a great game. Not to mention that all GTA's were at least good.
Also they always thought of people with outdated PC configs when they adapted their games for PC.
Bethesda released a lot of classics since the 90's, they didn't make a mockery of the old BlackIsle's Fallouts and gave PC MODers the chance to enhance almost every game they released.
If people call GTA4 a bad game they're insane. GTA 4 pushed many boundries gave us a big open city without loading (except cutscenes) they didn't have the humor some of the earlier GTA games had, took itself more serious also with better graphics.
Epic car chasing scenes
crazy shootouts
lots to do if you want to **** around in the game (Driving on the sidewalk full speed from one end of the town to another is a good way to **** around )
Stuntjumps
etc etc
Great great game. Some say they didn't like the story too much but that's all a matter of opinion. I thought the Idea of Nico in Liberty City was a great idea.
