My thoughts on the "console wars"

Well both consoles preorders are sold out.

I would like to preface this by saying I actually had hoped that the Xbox one would have slow sales would be sluggish so they would rethink their policies, but that hasn't happened so fans of Microsoft exclusives will have to "deal with it" as the main****** gamer doesn't seem to care.

Now I want to address the Sony fanboys because what I've heard coming out of their mouths has been embarrassing.

1. Mocking the xbox1 price

Even though they were cool with the ps3 price, Microsoft console unfortunately includes kinnect which makes it more expensive, but doesn't seem to have effected sales.

2. The hillarious about turn on Kingdom hearts

When this was announced as a ps4 exclusive they were jizzing their pants "omg Kingdom hearts, rip xbone" then it's revealed that it, as well as ff15 are multi format and suddenly it's "Kingdom hearts is not a system seller" that was also the statement about metal gear solid 5, even though they rubbed mgs4 in xbox owners faces for years

3. Paying for online is ok... When Sony does it

Another one of the Sony fanboys favorite arguments was that paying for online games was for idiots, Sony slip it in quietly and they are all fine with it

4. Drm will be ok... If Sony does it

See above, publishers can adopt whatever drm they like, just like xbox, but I'm sure it'll all be good in the ps4 hood if they do.

Also despite being the "one for gamers" the ps4 showed no decent games and lost two flagship exclusives, yet this is being glossed over.

The funny thing is I'm far from a Sony Fanboy.
I was in the MSFT camp all the way. Had each of their systems at launch.
I'm gone now though unless something drastic changes between now and launch.
For me I buy most of my games used at Gamestop.

The backlash against Microsoft isn't even about Microsoft, it's about DRM. Unfortunately, Microsoft has chosen to alienate millions of their loyal customers a lot sooner than anybody had anticipated, so it's only right that they eat their fair share of **** for doing so.

A decade from now DRM will be the standard.

Right. A decade from now everything will be digital; no more physical discs. Once that happens it will be extremely easy to control games and prevent trading, selling games, etc.

Yeah I've been repping Microsoft for a long time but the difference is I don't say Sony are ****, I think they make good stuff and if I had the money I'd buy both.

I'll probably opt out of gaming when that happens. I'm a collector, so if I can't have physical copies then I don't want it. I'm still kinda pissed off that they phased out instruction manuals, honestly. The game feels incomplete without them and I don't have nearly as much reading material for when I take a **** now.

It's because of the DRM, Earl.

Granted there are a ton of ******s out there who are rabidly loyal to one specific console developer and who attack that company's opposition at any opportunity, but I'd venture a bet that that's not even half of the backlash MS is getting over this.

People hate change for one, and secondly, customers (rightly) believe that they have the right to do whatever they want with whatever they own.
