Coming Soon For The Unvaccinated: A $50 Monthly Paycheck Deduction From Your Employer

Employers are beginning to tack on a special surcharge of $20 to $50 a month to their unvaccinated workers, according to one of the nation’s largest health benefits consultancies.

To date, employers have offered gift cards, a day off from work, cash and other financial incentives to convince their workers to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

But the carrot approach is about to be joined by a stick that could cost employees up to $50 a month, , the large employee benefits consultancy that works with thousands of employers around the world.

“Employers have tried encouraging employees to get vaccinated through offering incentives like paid time off and cash, but with the Delta variant driving up infections and hospitalizations throughout the country – at the same time that vaccination rates have stalled – we have received inquiries from at least 20 employers over the past few weeks who are giving consideration to adding health coverage surcharges for the unvaccinated as a way to drive up vaccination rates in their workforce,” said , Mercer’s regulatory resources group leader.

Mercer isn’t disclosing the names of companies working on the surcharges but said the amount of the surcharge being discussed with these employers is akin to the $20 to $50 a month charges companies already charge workers who smoke.

Aside from a public health reason to encourage vaccination and keep workers and their families healthy, there is also a financial reason. Covid-19 can lead to serious illness and an expensive hospital stay that costs the worker and company-paid insurance, triggering premium increases as well.

A Doctor from Kaiser said people who don't want to be vaccinated should be charged with higher premiums

Why does someone need to be vaccinated if the masks work? Can't someone who isn't vaccinated just wear a mask?

My good friend's girlfriend works at a Doctor's office. She grabbed a stack of legit CDC cards from the office. She filled it out for me and gave me a bunch of extras for my family. My boy found a real keeper in her, she's the whole package. God bless that beautiful woman.

Your sister is awesome for doing that. F**k this medical tyranny and authoritarian bullsheeit. We will always find a way to get around bullsheeit.

Damn you have the hook up for real

Its ****ed up. My girl and I wanted to go see a Brooklyn Nets game.

We found out we needed to show proof of vaccination and said **** that.

There used to be a section where you can social distance and still watch the game. There isn't a bad seat in Barclays Center so we didn't mind.

                  They changed the rules though.

Ohio judge orders man to get COVID-19 vaccine as condition of probation

An Ohio judge has ordered a man to get vaccinated against COVID-19 — or face jail time.

Judge Christopher Wagner told Brandon Rutherford, 21, at a sentencing hearing in a Hamilton County court Wednesday, that he must get vaccinated within 60 days as a condition of his probation for possession of fentanyl,.

“I’m just a judge, not a doctor, but I think the vaccine’s a lot safer than fentanyl, which is what you had in your pocket,” Wagner said at the hearing.

“You’re going to maintain employment. You’re not going to be around a firearm. I’m going to order you, within the next two months, to get a vaccine and show that to the probation office.”

Wagner told Rutherford that he could be sent to state prison for up to 18 months if the conditions of his probation are violated, the outlet reported.

Rutherford had revealed his vaccination status at the beginning of the hearing when the judge questioned him about why he was wearing his mask in court.

He later slammed the judge’s orders that he get the vaccine, saying the move was unfair.

“Because I don’t take a shot they can send me to jail? I don’t agree with that,” Rutherford told the outlet. “I’m just trying to do what I can to get off this as quickly as possible, like finding a job and everything else. But that little thing (COVID vaccine) can set me back.”

Rutherford said that he doesn’t plan to follow the judge’s orders.

“I’m not taking the vaccine,” .

The judge said in a statement that it’s his responsibility in the court is to “rehabilitate the defendant and protect the community,” news station WCPO reported.

“Judges make decisions regularly regarding a defendant’s physical and mental health, such as ordering drug, alcohol, and mental health treatment,” Wagner said.
