You ever get approached in the street because you’re wearing some form of sports memorabilia?

Can’t wear a hockey jersey in Canada anymore. It’s too much. Everyone has something to say about how the team is doing or they will invite you over to their table at the bar. People will honk their horns at you as you walk the street.

when I was like 14 I was wearing a Kansas City Chiefs winter coat and some old lady approached me outside of a movie theatre. She seemed psyched to meet a fellow fan this far North so I I didn’t want to disappoint and faked my way through an entire conversation like I actually watch football. My mom bought me the coat because it was red.

    Yes.

But it wasn't always on the most "friendliest" of terms.

It's ok to compliment someone wearing a team jersey but if someone has a "problem" cause it's a "rival" team is an absolute fvkcing loser idk how grownass people go around with that attitude.

Nah, not just going to an actual game or even a bar when two rival teams are playing, although fuckery has happaned before, no doubt.

There are places that wearing the wrong professional sports franchise could lead to some pretty serious shit.

LA and Chicago, you might want to be a little cautious.

I get the gang shlt that you're saying in the last sentence (which even then is ******). I'm just saying it's ridiculous.

To "defend" a team to fight some stranger for them. Another fvkcing loser thing to me is when they say "We" when referring to the team they're a fan off. . Like bltch you aint part of the team or getting any of the money why the fvkc you saying "we"?

A ''reaction'' should be expected if you're wearing merch in the home teams town.

I've always worn Blue Jays hats even when I wasn't following them (I kind of have been lately at least) so a lot of awkward fake quick small talk convos like "yeah that sure was a close game last night" or sometimes I'll just go with the classic "Joe Carter walk off home run to win the world series" and they'll just look at me like I woke from a 29-year coma...

                  I hear you.

Alot of the "we" talk is...

We? You got a mouse in your pocket?

It's mostly regional and/or childhood memories mixed in with some "banter".

Shouldn't be taken anymore serious than that, but hey, there are 60+ year old dudes wearing NFL jerseys and sweatpants walking around in public.

                  Guy.

You arent part of the "squad".

You can't even find shit at Home Depot.

                  Tom Brady doesn't care.

Yes, I'm sure most people do. I've got a couple of South Africa cricket shirts (I'm not from there but I like the look of their shirts, and they're not our big rivals like Australia) and usually former South Africans always seem to find me. Asians always like to talk cricket too. I've got a New England Patriots hat on a snowy day when a guy walking towards me on the street stopped and we talked for a good few minutes as probably the only 2 people who watch American football in this whole town met by chance.
