Lets discuss the power of meditation

    Do you guys meditate?

    If so:
    - how often?
    - for how long?
    - is this a new thing or how experienced are you?
    - why do you do it?
    - how does it help you?

When I meditate, I focus on the fickleness of this physical reality, and how nothing is what it seems. We are beings trapped in the present moment inside 3 dimensional cages.

I think about death and how it's inescapable. I think about how fleeting our grasp is on life and the everchanging present moment.

And then.. I accept it all and let go, perpetually letting go instead of trying to hold on.. letting the universe wash over me and through me, without holding on to anything, like I was a wisp of air. That's when I can enter my spiritual state.. and instead of being stuck in perpetually changing 1 second freeze frames.. I can feel eternity... and all the emotions of unconditional and free peace and love.

If I lived on an island all by myself only then is medication working. Way too many others involved in my life to just think me and my time. Always something going to be happening soon. First off the phone.

I thought the thread title said "Let's discuss the power of ************" at first and I was gonna write about 15 detailed paragraphs about ******* off.

Nah, but seriously I've been meditating for the last few years. I started just once or twice a week and made progress although slow. But within the past year, I've been meditating more frequently like almost daily for about a half hour, and I'll do a long 1-2 hour session about once or twice a week if I have time.

It involves a lot of self-reflection and seeing images of the past, my own ego, and experiences and relationships I've had with people both good and bad, and I was able to remove emotional attachment to all those things. Meditation also helped me see the root of a lot of my bad habits and helped me understand how I formed the negative views I had about society and people in general.

I'm a way more positive person and things that would have pissed me off or stressed me out is just laughable to me now.

Nah dude, there's better things than busting a nut, and lasting visions of heaven.

Very nice mate, sounds like you have a lot of experience. Takes a lot of practice to learn to switch off fully and control your unconscious mind.

              Very powerful ability.

1-2 hour session is incredible work. Is that guided or are you doing it in complete silence by yourself?

The longer sessions are guided. Because of the CV virus, the meditation center is closed, so I do the sessions through Zoom.

The shorter sessions I do on my own.
