So has China completely colonized Africa?

Anybody have a lot of insight on this?

I’ve recently been following this China Africa relationship and for the most part it looks like China now has Africa in their clutches, with Africa being in debt to China by about 20% of their entire continent’s worth.

All their technology and infrastructure there is now systematically Chinese so can’t really back out of the deal with China or else they SOL.

Also heard China was doing some illegal coal mining out there in Africa and that’s become a big issue between both.

Can anybody chime in on this if they have deeper research?

    Pretty interesting stuff.

Cool, so do you have any information about China taking advantage of Africa for resources & to keep their economy going?

Id like to hear more than what Ive researched myself.

I think its insane that Africa owes 20% of their total worth to China (the most debt in the world to another country)

No I just wanted to be an ass hole because you like to condescend to me.

Can't say I know anything about it, or the American slavery stuff you were talking about last night. But good luck finding what you're looking for, and I mean that sincerely since I already got my petty little jabs in.

          No worries.

Just a curious topic since China has built a major power house for themselves and the colonization?of Africa is a controversial topic amongst global current events.

I hear they are doing similar things in Republic of Ireland too, buying their major airports and lots of other infastructure.

I have to say first hand I have not looked into it but it wouldn't surprise me.

            China has a smart strategy.

Take almost all of the "working class" jobs out of the West such as manufacturing, help desks, loads of things that creates way less jobs in the west.

Sell all their manufactured goods made with slave labour back to the west for big profits

Use said profits to buy the west's assets

Western capitalist greed sees this as great as they make loads of extra profit off the top

One day the west wakes up and looks around and realises China has become an economic empire and owns its A$$

I mean I'm a pretty dumb dude but this seems obvious to me?

It's not particularly 'deeper knowledge' but yes the development / exploitation of Africa is a significant part of China's overall strategy. Africa is one of the few parts of the world with massive growth potential and one that's been largely overlooked by the West since the Postwar decolonialisations except as a source of cheap raw materials. Of course a large part of China's interest is the cheap materials but I understand they're also investing fairly heavily in infrastructure and social development projects I believe which is part of a wider strategy of becoming a truly global power.

China overtakes the US as the major trading partner of African nations:

Report from the council for foreign relations:

Overall whilst it looks like there is some ethically shady **** going on overall they're building a mutually benefical relationship. Kinda what we (the Western Nations) probably should have been doing more of. Honestly I think we probably missed a trick there, but there's structural reasons why the Chinese government and economy is better adapted to long term strategic growth policies like this, whereas Western societies are increasing focused on short term projects... we got investors to pay and elections to win so stuff that bears fruit in a decade or two ain't really high up on the priorites list most of the time.

China does business in countries the US is afraid to do biz in due to human rights violations

Americans died in Afghanistan but US won’t do biz there. Meanwhile the Chinese do biz over there

Similar to this election year one side will do anything it takes including breaking rules. While the other guys are proud of being law-abiding

Ofc it easier for the rule benders to win

China invests into energy projects in Africa. If these local governments don’t obey, China cuts them off
