    I have asked you repeatedly after you made the claims, and so far you have only given two short "arguments" if you can even call it that:

    1-"Atleast he got back up after he got decked"
    2-You claim he DID have good defense. With no follow up.


    You made the ridiculous claims about him being the most technically perfect HW ever yet these are your brilliant arguments to support that statement. Oh, and posting youtube HL's.

      Louis greatness is spelled out very clearly within the evidence I posted. Watch the videos and read the literature. Otherwise I cannot help you.

      Taking controversial opinions, without merit, makes you feel as if you are intellectually superior. It’s a fools game only played by the ignorant.

        Responding with nothing but emotionally charged ad hominems, which is out of character for you.

        This proves my point about Louis to a tee. It's a cultural thing to glorify and defend him, not a rational or logical thing.

        This isn't the first time I've challenged the likes of you. Deep down, you actually start to think about what I'm saying and it's starting to set in. That is why you lash out emotionally.

          No. I’ve studied Louis in depth since the early 70’s. You have a HIGHLY distorted highly minority “opinion”. Honestly among the most ignorant of opinions. Watch the videos, read the literature. There is nothing to debate. You just need an education. Louis is great because he is unmatched TECHNICALLY not because he was a WW2 anti **** hero. (such garbage!)

          Study up! You take the prize away from Rusty as the most ignorant opinion ever on any boxing board.

              That's correct. See above, when you back him into a corner he fails due to his frustration. You see his empty dialogue for what it is, he can't even go into detail about Joe Louis' defense. Instead relying on highlight videos and for others to do the work for him. He's a living stereotype of boxing enthusiasts who are clueless.

                    Explain how so many awful fighters managed to find his chin and deck him in his prime.

                    Houdini has done such a horrendous job of defending his idiotic statements on Louis in this thread, I would give even YOU of all people a better shot at making a case for the overrated champ.

                      I don't think anyone believes Louis had Whitaker like defense. But his defense also didn't have gaping holes. His left was held low to draw his opponents into range. This of course backfired against Schmeling, but he had spent more time golfing than training for the first fight. Good on Max for or being able to take advantage.

                      Joe was also very adapt at parrying punches, something you see in many of his fights. He also had subtle head movement.

                      Overall, I'd probably give him 7/10 defensively, as his defense was setting up his offense.
