The Closest boxer to be the next ray robinson?

who's the closest boxer to be the next ray robinson or be better than ray robinson?

Now? No one. I don't think there is anyone in the sport with that unique combination of boxing skill, speed, lights out power, unbelievable chin, and stamina to hang with Robinson. The closest would have to be Mayweather, but even he doesn't have anything on Robinson with regards to power. I do think Mayweather is a better defensive fighter, but he just doesn't have the offensive arsenal to see Sugar Ray.

I'd say he's closer to Ray Leonard, because you cannot substitute for one punch power.

The thing that makes Robinson untouchabe is his record and the skills and toughness he had.
He fought everyone.Thats just not going to happen now. Not with all the belts, all the politics, and fighters dont fight as much.

There have and will be fighters with amazing skills that rival Robinson. Leonard was probably more skillful overall.

I would never mention PBF wen talking about Robsinson. Because like Leonard , Robinson would purposefully play his opponents at their own game and beat them.
PBF would not. Maybe he simply doesnt need to, but ATG's go far and beyond what is expected from them.

You also have to take into account that Robinson had a steel chin, and well, you know whats in your sig

Actually, skillwise, Roy is not even close to Robinson. Roy was megatalented and did everything wrong(from boxing standpoint) Ray was megatalented and did almsot everything right, besides a few lapses in defense, but he had a great chin and heart to make up for that.
As to main question, I dont see anyone being the kind of fighter Robinson was, who was an offensive machine first, contrary to superskilled PBF who is defensive fighter first.

I agree with you in the terms that Roy isn't even close to rivaling SRR, but it's unfair to magnify the end of a great career, when he's no longer blessed witht that natural skill.
