Comments Thread For: Joe Joyce Comes In Heavier For Carlos Takam Fight Than He Was For Daniel Dubois Bout

Joe Joyce was five pounds heavier Friday for his fight against Carlos Takam than he was the day before he defeated Daniel Dubois. The 6-feet-6 Joyce stepped on the British Boxing Board of Control's scale at 263 3/4 pounds for their 12-round main event Saturday night at Wembley Arena in London.

I doubt it will slow him down.

      Just said the same thing

He’s got a hell of a engine on him

Would love to see wilder Joyce or Joshua Joyce

Think fury would dance around him but the other fights would be a thing of beauty

One things for certain....we're gonna know FOR SURE how good Joe Joyce is or if he completely sucks......if you know me then ya know my stance...Joe Joyce is highly overrated after beating a never-could-be in DD. I fully expect Joe to take a loss here....possibly by knockout.

There are fans, who reset this "we gonna know for sure" nonsense every time the fighter fights. DD wasn't a bad test for Joyce, but it's not like haters can give credit when it's due. And no, Joyce will not lose this one. I'm willing to bet on it.

I thought the same thing when reading through the comments. Let's say Joyce wins on points. Are any of the doubters going to change their tune? No they won't. The caveats will be all about Takam being old, which he is, and short for a heavyweight, which he is. Unless Joe blasts Takam out in a few rounds they won't give him any credit, and maybe not even then.

I think it should be a good rumble. I think Joyce will take it either with a late TKO or on points.

It says everything about Joyce that he agreed to the Dubois fight. At his age a loss there would have ruined him and DD was widely tipped to win. Joyce is a guy any true fan of the sport should appreciate.

Joyce possibly has the second best resume amongst the heavy weights, behind Joshua, definently deserving of a shot ,unless there's an upset
