That man always has strange takes on boxing matches. Sometimes he's right, and sometimes he's wrong. But for whatever reason, Andre Ward decided that he'd reply to Rafael in the most triggered way possible.

Andre Ward decided to make it racial and talk about black supremacy, and for me, anyone who talks about racial supremacy over another race is flat out, point blank, a racist. And that's really disappointing because I liked Ward. I think there's a good argument that he got lucky with both of his fights against Kovalev, but that's not a reason to get upset and make it racial.

If you want to see what this is all about, I suggest you watch the video, but for me, Andre Ward is done. Definitely not buying his book. I can't support that.
Boxing supremacy comes to the populous inhabiting the ******s at the time. Look back to the 20s and 30s, the ***s occupied the ******s and produced many champions through that time.

But they were able to suck it up, work hard and get out of that environment.

When will the current residents understand that it is not the white mans fault and quit pointing their fingers at the white man?

Maybe after you've spent the rest of your life racking up another 30,000 posts (on this forum alone, I'm sure you're on others) talking about it.

And Ward may not be playing any race card because we know an old Hopkins lost split decision to Calzaghe and was stopped by Joe Smith. Two white guys. Yet he mentions Hopkins and Floyd in that list.

Possibly Ward might mean that Dan doesn't like technical defensive boxers who some people labelled "boring", as they did to those 3 guys at certain points in their careers?
Well, it's better to have this context. Thanks for posting this. It kind of alludes to that he's referring to something else other than "race" by stating "type." However, it's hard for me to think of what that something else would be. He mentioned Floyd and Bernard, both of whom have notoriously made racial remarks against others.

The reality is that his tweet will be taken to mean "race" by the vast majority because 99 percent of the time, that's what people mean when they say "type" in this context. He thinks he's being ambiguous, but you never want to be ambiguous with public statements, knowing that you allow the public to interpret said statements as they wish. Not a good move by Ward.

And in all honest, I think it's important to remind the public that not all wins on the record books are without controversy. If Chavez were to talk about beating Whitaker, I think people need to speak up and remind the world that Chavez did not beat Whitaker. If Canelo mentions beating Golovkin twice, I think people need to speak up and remind others that those fights were highly controversial and that the vast majority saw Canelo lose twice. #neverforget

You do these fighters such a disservice by allowing robberies to be swept under the rug.

I just think that Ward didn't have to low like that. Whatever he meant, I'm positive he knows how "type" will be interpreted because Ward is a smart man. But he's also an emotional, prideful man and lets emotions and pride get the better of him when he'd do himself better service by controlling himself.

Lol! He is the ULTRA-MEGA SUPREME CANLEO NUTHUGGER. This man has a poster of a shirtless Canelo above his bed. Never head someone talk som much about clapping other men's cheeks. (He banned me from his channel by the way.)

Nevertheless, I have to says that he does speak a lot of sense at times, just when Canelo is not the subject of his videos.

Yeah. That's a fact. I ref was grilled for his decision, but when he explained it afterward, it made all the sense in the world. He should have done more to show that he was fine. The ref lost track of the time in the round. It happens. He's not the timekeeper anyway.

                  Sergey vs Andre.

Yet when Chavez vs Whitaker is a draw or Joe vs Bernard is a win for Joe? These aren’t seen as robberies. It just is what it is.

Floyd face Castillo twenty plus years ago. People still bring it up as a way to make it seem as if his career wasn’t special or his record wasn’t legitimate. So it’s the same reoccurring theme people notice and speak up on.

Remember when Bernard beat Kelly? How much tension was in the air, it was because that dynamic of white vs black. So the gripe will always be, why is there an issue when a black boxer faces someone of another so called race and you aren’t given benefit of the doubt for winning without there needing to be this long winded spiel as to why you cheated or your win isn’t valid?

One-hundred percent this fight was seen as a robbery! A lot of them are robberies! And the public said so. Most of the public just want to see the right man win. There's so much injustice in the world that most people want to see fairness and parity in their sports. Most people don't give a **** about someone's race.

Remember the fight with Devin and Loma? You have people going into that fight rooting for Devin come out and say that Loma was robbed. From Boosey to Nelly to many others. As Boosey said after collecting his wins because Devin won, he said "money can't make me lie; I saw champ lose damn near every round."

Just cuz people have a right to free speech doesn't mean you have to like or support everything they say. Weird logic.
