Hrgovic looked like he was thinking about quitting vs Zhang so if Dubois tries hard he might be able to make it happen, could be a quit job either way.

This fight reminds me of Makmudov vs Kabayel, and also like Dubois vs Jarrell Miller. Kabayel was not afraid of Makmudov and definitely caught him sleeping per being sharp and ready. Zhang was not intimidated and nearly did the same to Hrgovic (should have been a Zhang win or draw at the worst). Like Hrgovic is doing now, Jarrell Miller tried to intimidate Dubois before the fight. Dubois remained calm and focused and came in sharp and ready.
If Hrgovic gets a surprise early in the fight I think he will react like Makmudov, getting somewhat desperate, lunging, off-balance, rushing, etc. It doesn't help to stake your retirement on the outcome either. He's trying awful hard to intimidate Dubois. Or his disdain for him is that great. Hmmnnn.
Then again Hrgovic has been a nightmare for many. I think a lot rests on whether Dubois is genuinely intimidated by him or not. Dubois has shown how bad a mistake it is to underestimate him (even to Usyk). That punch to Usyk's midsection was legit. And we see what happened to Jarrell Miller.
PS - On a separate note, I sure would like to see Hrgovic vs Makmudov one day.

DDD has plenty of quit in him, but he can crack and is fairly quick for a HW.
Hrgovic, meanwhile, is technically good and durable, but a bit slow and always looks like he wants to take a break.
I suspect Hrgovic will look to jab Dubois into the quitzone, but I also think there is a reasonable chance of DDD upsetting the applecart with his speed, power and workrate.

Regarding DDD Usyk made him quit and he is not bih puncher like Hrgovic, also Hrgovic can box and trow punches im series, not Like Makhmudov. Hrgovic can take a big punches, Makhmudov can not. Miller has no power, he is just big, no stamnia, no power just size. Miller is good only for the show and dirty talk.
He' is not trying awful hard to intimidate Dubois, he is only saying his oppinion, he also said that it is not easy fight with DDD but also that he believes that he is better.Last edited by James; 05-01-2024, 12:30 AM.
