For sure he's earned the right...canelo has a small frame, despite his in ring weight his body says he's a 160 pounder soaking wet...it's not fair to him or good boxing to face guys 3-4 inches taller, 15-20 pounds heavier and running for dear life

I rather see him fight the guys his size so we could see the better fights with canelo fighting at his apex

And boxing fans have the right to call him a protected handpicking ducker. The worst mistake Canelo made was when he dodged Benavidez and said it was because he wasn't being polite enough. It seemed like an employer declining Benavidez as an employee because of his bad manners. A fight is a FIGHT. Ali was not polite to Joe or George. Tyson was not polite to Holy or Lennox. Duran was not polite to SRL. Boxing fans want tension, bad blood, grudges, trash talk and mind games. Canelo should just go and box in the WWF.

I just read this and I have to reply, canelo single handedly has take down boxing to it lowest level in decades, well, with the help.of the alphabet soups, the corruption and bias has reached new levels during his time at the top, at the top of the money making I mean, because he has not face a siingle threat since he arrived at the 168lbs, yes, he made a mistake at 175, but he is the "king" at 168.

Getting tired of the repeated 'Canelo Alvarez has earned the right to choose his fights', he can keep fighting if he wants that's not the issue, the issue is that he holds he all the belts, holding the division at a halt from progressing just to promote his star power.

He maneuvers himself with calculated risk and refraining making fights with dozens of excuses that panders to his fanbase. He wasn't that exciting in his recent run after losing to bivol, but entertainment wise his recent fight takes the cake when it comes to his inactivity, he is basically a celebrity being cheered for doing the bare minimum.

He did to a degree at the start at of 168, but he saw it as a big opportunity with low risk as Saunders and Plant aren't renown punches. Plus a faded Kovalev at 175 who was winning until he faded late due to his disadvantages is a still more of a threat than a somewhat drained Callum Smith at 168, who was only known as a champion on paper only without beating a top level opponent.

After a single year which was reasonably a good run for him unifying all the belts within span of 11 months, he pretty much just had been maneuvering however he wanted after 3 out for 4 years straight however he wanted after losing to Bivol.

Not taking risks and glorifying his opposition like Ryder (evil British twin), Jermell Charlo (supposedly bigger), GGG (early 40s coming off a war at 160), Munguia (had 2 bouts at 168 not really earning his spot) and Berlanga. (Is a "prospect" nearing to his thirsties)

People also forget he was planning to move cruiserweight in 2022, and had fought at 175 twice, yet all these excuses about Benavidez and Morrell still came flooding.

Letting him have that right is why boxing is a joke to a lot of people. Id have no problem if he didn't have the belts, but he does. These corrupt boxing orgs, namely wbc and wba are crooked af and allow him to hide behind their bs skirts

They're not excuses, it is a fact that he refused to face Benavidez, period, and ignored Morrell jr for three years. He tried to make Badou Jack come down, a ridiculous amount of pounds, BJ told the world, and he was crucified, canelo, by. The two fights at 175, kovalev after coming from a grueling fight without time to heal, and bivol after two so so showings. The guy is not a real warrior that yes, he wants money and legacy.
