explain SSM, RJJ, hopkins. explain to me why black american fighters have small fan bases?
can you name the highest grossing PPV in recent history vs 2 black american fighters?
its a sad reality, but its the truth. now, granted this fight will do well since theyre both names, but beating DLH numbers is unrealistic.
Even if you look through recent history the reality just doesn't support your thinking. Zab Judah had one of the most loyal fan bases you could imagine. Even Bob Arum attributed about 6,000 ticket sales to Judah fans for the Cotto fight. Judah-Spinks 2 in St Louis was the best attended fight in the US in the 00s decade. Jeff Lacy regularly drew big crowds in Tampa. Jermain Taylor drew huge crowds in Arkansas and even Tennessee and Mississippi.
Obviously you're going to believe what you want to believe, but the idea that Black fighters can't develop fan bases in this day and age is wrong.

Tim Bradley has a loyal following in the Southern California deserts. Floyd Mayweather drew over 1,000 people for a press conference in the middle of the day during the middle of the week in DC, which is nowhere near where he's from.

tim bradley has NO following. neither does chad dawson. mosley, despite his success (more success than DLH) never turned out to be a stand alone draw.
paul williams, wheres his fan base? youd think with his style and personality hed have a growing one, but he doesnt.
etc, etc.
patriotism and ethnicity carries fan bases now. if a fighter in the US cant carry his own region, the chances of him building a growing fanbase is small cuz america is inundated with sports/athletes.

Floyd could sold more then 1 million with dance partner JMM,and JMM had all country behind him to buy PPV.
Floyd said that Mosley is not PPV attraction and that JMM is bigger attraction the MOSLEY.
