Can we please stop talking as if the De La Hoya Vs. Mayweather fight was close, because it clearly was not. In regards to Hearns, no doubt a great offensive fighter. Tommy brought the heat from round 1 and even great fighters could not survive his onslaught. Would Tommy slaughter most on this list, yes, but who on this list could take advantage of Tommy's mistakes? There were flaws in his game that could be exploited. Who could do that?

De La Hoya has a excellent jab, left hook, good hand speed, but lacked mental and physical stamina. Hearns wins, TKO

Trinidad is interesting because of his combination punching and power in both hands, but his lateral and head movement was not good. Could he survive Hearns Jab and follow-up right hand is questionable? Maybe, but Tito would definitely have to get to establish himself early. You would have to favor Tommy in this one. Hearns knockout mid rounds.

Mosley - Some people on here have given Shane a chance, but I do not see any. Shane history of eating jabs is not a good precursor. Mosley vs Forrest killed Shane's chances in my mind. Hearns knockout early.

Forrest was special and very underrated. Vernon definitely had the skill set and right hand to put Tommy on his a$$. And to me 147 was Vernon's best weight. I would pay to see this match up. Also, Vernon does not have to get on the inside to hurt Tommy. Unfortunately for Vernon, that goes both ways. If I had to bet, I would take Hearns by decision.

    Cotto - No chance

Mayorga - Was he a WW. I assume this fight would take place at 154 lbs. Good chin, very awkward, gets knocked out exposing his chin trying to be macho.

Margarito - excellent inside pressure fighter with a good chin. The question is can Margarito walk through enough jabs and rights hands to get inside. I cannot see it, but it is possible. This one favors a Hearns decision.

Mayweather - I think it is a joke when people post Floyd would lose 10 out of 10 to Tommy. Floyd's game is to adjust and take away a opponents strengths. I definitely see this fight going to decision. I also know Tommy better get out to a big lead or knock Floyd out early. I never under estimate skill. And skill-wise, Floyd is superior. Hearns would be the betting favorite, so I would take the underdog in this one. Floyd by decision.

Pacquiao - Manny has good in and out movement, but I fear his lack of defense against the ropes would be his undoing. Plus, Tommy fought big(6'1"). He did not make himself small. Tommy Hearns is not a good match up for most WW, but the height difference in this fight is too much.

Williams - I do not think people have talked about this match up much, but I think it could be interesting. Obviously, Hearns is more technically gifted boxer but Williams always comes forward with a lot of punches. This would be a different fight Tommy in that he is fighting someone that can match his length. The safe money would be on a Hearns knockout. I will take that bet.

I own a Thomas Hearns collection like many of you I am sure, but no one was unbeatable. I think some on this list could compete with Tommy, but it would have been tough. He was a elite fighter.

From the names on the poll I'd say a PRIME Vernon Forrest (the one who demolished Shane). He has the size and ferocity to match Hearns at 147.

Maybe Vernon...Floyd has a chance but I can't see how he'd win even if he's a better boxer than Hearns...he'd have to be on his bike ALL night...

Pacquiao is too small and his style isn't disciplined enough to be careful...

The rest would surely lose...Cotto gets stopped, Williams gets KOed,

        Mayorga?

agreed, if anyone stands a chance its vernon but to be honest i see him going to sleep aswell.

hearns was a monster at 147, one thing ppl overlook is he had a great chin at that weight/point in his career in addition to his sick physicl tools and amazing skills.

robinson, leonard, griffin and kid gavilan are the only ppl i think have a decent chance of beating him. and i think ray was hella lucky to get away with that win, hearns would beat him atleast 4/5 times.

There is nobody on that list that could beat a prime welterweight that is Tommy Hearns. The ones that would come close because of size would be Vernon Forrest and Paul Williams. Think about it. There is no way any of those fighters can outbox Tommy plus has the Chin to take his pound for pound right hand. Tommy's prime losses came from fighters who had the courage to stand there and fight him. Prime example lets just use the Ray leonard and Hagler losses. Ray is probaly one of the best purest technical boxers that ever laced the gloves and he could not outbox Tommy. So half way in the fight he changes game plan and started to **** with him and eventually stopped him late in the fight. Because of Ray's courage he suffered a detached retina that had him sit down for 5 years. The Hagler fight once again, Hagler knew he could not stand there and try to box with Tommy so what happen? You have a 3 round war with Tommy being stopped in the 3rd but Hagler received a large gash on his forehead from Tommy's right hand in the first round. Later on in the fight the referee thought about stopping the fight because the gash was so bad. i'm just saying to beat him you got to b ready to go through it, and I don't see a De La Hoya,or a Mayweather or a Trinidad beating him. And Mosley has a problem with tall boxers. I just don't see anybody really on that list that can beat him.
