I wish someone had the balls to do this to Mayweather before he got big. Too late now.

This is HBO mess. Fighters are always gonna ask for more if they believe they can get it. Hbo should have had the deal signed months ago.

Just how? As long as Adonis wanted no part of this...

The Canadian brown bear is not only greedy, but is obviously avoiding a duel with the Siberian tiger. This phenomenon really occurs in nature, because for all it's strength the brown bear avoids the tiger knowing that he will not only be defeated, but will also be eaten afterwards.

                  He's right though.
HBO could have taken care of this a long time ago. The Stevenson/Kovalev fight was building up long before Stevenson signed with Al Haymon.

If HBO had no intention on paying for a Stevenson vs Fonfara fight, they should have told Stevenson from the beginning that the next fight was either Kovalev or nothing. They could have told both of them after their November 30th fight that the next fight they were getting paid for was against each other and nothing else.

Instead they allowed both Stevenson and Kovalev to seek interim bouts in a build up to their fight in the fall. However if they were going to do this, then again HBO should have secured the contracts to those fights. They should have made both of them sign an agreement that after their interim bout they'd fight each other.

Now, they allowed Stevenson to sign with Al Haymon without having any contracts signed and allowed Showtime to come in and steal Stevenson by offering him more money for his fights.

Not saying Stevenson isn't completely blameless here, but HBO seriously dropped the ball.

stevenson wanna fight Hopkins. he's been saying that for years and people dont wanna listen. that is his dreamfight. Hopkins is huge in canada i know coz i live there. he is perceive as a legend like some type of wizard and he really captivated the mind of canadians specially quebecers. stevenson doesnt care about fighting Kovalev unless he get vastly overpaid for it. he can easily make 1,5 or 2 millz fighting Hopkins here.
am i a fan of the situation ? no coz i want him to fight Kovalev but do i understand whatz going on yes ! every boxer has a dream fight and for Stevenson it is the legendary bernard Hopkins unfortunately for us. maybe he might fight Kovalev after that but hbo is gonna have to overpay him
