And still he got his arse handed. According to your logic different gloves had no impact.

Back to topic , yes there is some difference.

A 'puncher' glove has a different distribution of weight, namely less on the knuckles and more towards the wrist.

It gets even more accentuated if the glove is not new, since the padding around the knuckles gets flattened.

I don't think gloves made a huge different regarding the Mayweather fight, el Chino didn't land much clean in any case, but the answer to the TR question is yes.

The concussive impact is the same. So, you are going to have zero difference in KO likelihood. That's just science. And, if anything, greater padding allows you to throw harder with less fear of hand injury. But, thinner padding does allow for greater bruising and cuts because the surface is no longer flat at full impact, the knuckles are involved. This comes at the cost of greater damage to the hands.

When I started boxing back in 1978 rules in the amateurs weren't followed or monitored I fought with the old Reyes punchers gloves as did my opponent you can feel the knuckles hit you, you get instant mouses on your cheek bones if a hard puncher nails you there. With the Pillow amateur gloves the ones with red or blue with white I never felt that. With the puncher gloves you do see white lights when punchers connect on you. As a 14 year old back than you fought many grown men and you felt the punches. When I trained my nephew from 2005 to 2009 rules were followed to a tee age, amateur pillow gloves no more puncher gloves gloves in the amateurs.

Than why is the there more ko's more bruising with those little MMA gloves in those short fights. Unless you have been hit with both you have no clue in what your talking about. Cleto Reyes Castro was born on April 26th 1920 in Mexico City, in the midst of the reconstruction period after 10 years of revolutionary struggle. Because of the hard times his family was facing, Cleto began to work at the age of 12 in a saddlery where baseball gear was manufactured. In 1936 while he attended elementary school, his huge love for boxing was born as the Peralvillo Cozumel Arena***8221;, was in front of his school. In 1938, Cleto Reyes participated in an amateur fight, his performance was so outstanding that the public ended up throwing coins into the ring floor; however, the pounding was so hard that he was convinced not to fight again. He chose, instead, to mend the gloves he had used during the fight and this was the beginning of his career in glove manufacture.

Nowadays, Cleto Reyes products have a prominent place in the international market and are exported to five different continents with the approval of the main world organizations.
