    Sergey Kovalev has agreed to fight another mostly unknown southpaw in Atlantic City.

    jeetwin24.com has learned that a deal has been finalized for the Russian knockout artist to defend his WBO light heavyweight title against Australia�s Blake Caparello on Aug. 2 at Revel. HBO will televise the 12-round title fight as part of a split-site �Boxing After Dark?broadcast that�ll also feature a welterweight bout between Brandon Rios (31-2-1, 23 KOs), of Oxnard, Calif., and Argentina�s Diego Chaves (23-1, 19 KOs) from The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.

      Caparello isn't a bad boxer.

      He's the best possible WILLING opponent.

        Why would any true boxing fan have any interest in this pathetic mismatch? Stevenson and Hopkins are the fighters that we'd like to see Kovalev tangle with. Can't blame Sergey because he's in the prime of his boxing career and has to stay active.

        My dream before leaving this earthly life, would be to see the formation of a national boxing commission that could make sure the best and most deserving fighters are facing off in championship fights. And, could also put the hammer to the incompetent "judges" who aren't qualified to effect the careers of the valiant warriors who pursue boxing as their livelihood.

        Am I just a dreamer? Yeah, I think so.

          I would be happy if Kovalev mentioned interest in fighting Andre Ward after this fight instead of the chinless Stevenson.

              Will Andre Ward take the Kovalev fight in the fall or will he complain about his contract, fight another bum in Cali, and then sign with Haymon and run to Showtime?
