El Chacel stinks out arena..he should be flogged!!!!
A paycut is not good enough for this Nyquil inducing athlete ..I hate to say this (actually I don't because he sucks on live TV) because again I'm a purist but there are limits to even a purist..he is boring.
He needs to be punished until he changes his style and approach to boxing. You know he should be punished...because he knew what was at stake especially after the ridicule he received from the fight he had prior and Arum had to pull out all the stops to get him this date and he still delivered the same boring performance.
Even with the fans booing, he didn't care...he already got our money and said to himself "I'm going to fight my boring style and win"
Sometimes it isn't about just winning, it's about how you win especially when you are fighting an opponent not in your league.
Punishment is in order, let him fight off US television until El Chacel and his moronic manager realizes that fighting on HBO (or any cable provider) is a privilege....NOT A RIGHT!!!
Arum is evil incarnate but as evil as he is....even he doesn't deserve to promote a sleep inducing, insomnia curing, fighter.
Thank God almighty that he allowed me the opportunity to see July 19th, this was the day that HBO and Arum give El Chacel and his boxing career death's sweet release.
He is the same even when he's not fighting....look at the expression of this boring, boring man

Reallly enjoyed that commentary....This dude speaks the truth... Its very sad because my generation of fans, and my slice of the fan base waited patiently for the tyranny of King and Arum to leave the sport and these bastards are so evil even death is scared to take them! and then the new breed comes in to give more power to the fighters and what do you know? Now we have fighters worried about everything but fighting the best...guys like Floyd who set up events like Madianna where there is no chance of a loss. People like haymon cosign on these events, feeding the public WWF style entertainment where the ring is gigantic, the gloves are pillows and the ref makes sure his fighters don't get hurt. Rigondoux is a victim of this system, so is Ward in many respects imo.

Change his style? lol
You expect a guy who has had major success in the amateurs and pros for over 20 years to change his training methods and fighting style to please guys who don't even buy fights for most part anyway?
Even when he is more offensive he still gets labelled boring!
He scores knockdowns and knockouts in most of his fights.
He could become even more offensive, render opponents unconscious then what? He is fighting bums? What do fans want from a fighter these days?
He fights anybody! Never has he ducked a fighter.
He displays amazing skills, he knocks opponents down and out for most part. He don't price himself out or make crazy demands regarding gloves, ring size etc and still he is hated on.
Like I said before if he was American he'd be labelled as the second coming of Sweetpea with power!

Shouldn't the thread title be "Great video defending Rigondeaux against criticism"? I thought the video was going to be about how Rigondeaux is a great fighter but can't put butts into seats.

the new generation don't know the sport, they are accounter, matchmakers and promoters all at the same time and of course they beleive whatever the arums and espinozas of the world tell them, they don't see that the night Rigondeaux fought adbeko the headliner was kirkland-tapia, everyone was there to watch tapia steamroll over kirkland didn't happen and they left after the fight, but who got the blame? Against nonito he show what a master he is, if you change his name to SRL (second fight against Duran) or Whitaker (any fight) he will be bigger than may, but not, arum came after the fight slashing at GR and the rest is history, even adbeko was supossed to test his mettle but once he got hit it was all over...

Rigo has no need to change, that is absolutely correct.
He is the best fighter on the planet who schools guys and basically does whatever he wants, whenever he wants. His skill level is simply off the charts, nothing boring about a boxing master putting on clinic after clinic.
Rigo has beat Donaire with ease; he wants Santa Cruz, Frampton, Quigg...he wants the other top fighters and they are all avoiding him like the plague. Those guys ducking him are the one's you need to look at and complain about.
