Like showtime gives a shhhh...Hbo has nothing to lose by putting on an event. they are pretty much guaranteed the purse they'd guarantee for cotto and canelo even if the numbers are bad. Showtime on the other hand isn't going to be happy paying $32 million and having money taken off it's plate.

I have a feeling hes going to make the fight with pacquiao for may and then pull out last minute due to injury and screw over cotto canelo and pacquiao, but still he would be contractually obligated to fight him so he'd have to or pay up
