Comments Thread For: Brandon Rios Would Go To 154 For Cotto or Canelo

If the money is right, then former champion Brandon Rios (33-2-1, 24KOs) is ready and willing to move up in weight for a big fight. Two of the big names that would certainly persuade him to go upstairs - Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Miguel Cotto.

Rios is freshly removed from last month's three round demolition of Mike Alvarado in their trilogy fight. Canelo has an opponent already set for May 2nd, when he faces James Kirkland. But WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto is without a dance partner and Rios has been mentioned as being among the names considered for the Puerto Rican star.

Bad idea. I'd rather see him in with Lucas or Provodnikov.

Going up in weight is not the problem....beating the bigger guy is. With no success at all in WW, Rios is just chasing the money with someone who is a PPV draw in Junior middle. This guy will be in a wheelchair early in life.

I'm sure he would. Those are the most lucrative fights he can get at this point in his career.

Rios on suicide mission...Ruslan vs Rios first! Cotto will dismantle him badly.

Both Rios and Khan are desperate to get knocked out.
