LONDON – Boxing ace Amir Khan is refusing to overlook Chris Algieri despite media talk of a clash next up with pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather.

The 28-year-old Bolton star has been mooted as ‘Money’ Mayweather’s final opponent in September before he hangs up his gloves on an illustrious 19-year professional career.

However, Khan has refused to be drawn into any Mayweather talk and insists his focus is solely on New Yorker Algieri, who he faces live and exclusive on BoxNation this Friday night.

"I think Algieri has learned a lot of things from the pacquiao fight", what a clown .I doubt Algieri has learned nothing other than stay at your own level.Algieri was down SIX times and never came close to winning a round .Khan said he took Algieri as a last resort as other fighters weren't getting back to him....WHAT ABOUT BROOK who is fighting the following night or is it the old ramadan excuse that wouldn't allow you to box 24 hours later or something that you again make NO sense about.
When Khan announced a move up I was open minded to his quest , now I just see it was just another of THEIR weak excuses . I have no time for this lot and the sooner these people are out of our sport the better.
THIS FIGHT IS A FARCE and if you believe ,like Khan say's that Algieri is a 'A' class opponent you are being mugged and know little about boxing .Chris is a c- fighter at best !

A mismatch of a fight. Nice attempt from Khan to make him seem like a dangerous opponent who has a chance though.

Who needs an A game to beat a C game fighter who got pummeled in his last bout? To earn the Mayweather experience, Khan needs to batter Algieri inside the distance,preferably within 6 rounds and throw down the gauntlet to him saying do you want some of this.A mauling,holding,retreating kind of fight will not get it done.But isn't that how he fights under Hunter's tutelage?
