    Canelo's return date confirmed

It is confirmed, former Mexican champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, return to the event next September 12 and was announced by his manager Eddie Reynoso. Although still the opponent of Jalisco is not defined, it looks like it will be Miguel Cotto, coming off successfully defending his WBC title means by knocking in four rounds to Australian Daniel Geale, last Saturday in New York.

"Since we went once and will not be repeated, Saul fight on September 12 and if Mayweather wants the same date on, we will see who wins the battle of PPVs," Reynoso told the Ovations .

"Saul has several options, but the fight with Cotto would be very striking, hopefully we can take that confrontation that would be ideal, but just in case we have plans B and C," he added.

"Mayweather ended booed, while Saul always delivered in each of his fights. The public will know what fight the September 12, but we are sure that everyone will be in our fight," said the manager of 'Canelo'.

    I don't think Mayweather-Khan can out do Canelo-Cotto, I guess we'll find out.

They have to stop trying to compete with Floyd for PPV dates, and just wait for him to retire. Contesting shows hurt both parties profits. When will they understand that?

I don't think it will be Cotto. Please let it be Andrade (complete fantasy) and not Clottey. Maybe Canelo will use Sept. to finally face a MW.

That's besides the point. Splitting PPVs is not a good business decision when you want to maximize your profits.

They can't beat him in the ring... so they are gonna try to beat him at PPVs. Which is ****** cuz it's floyd's last fight regardless.

I doubt it's Floyd's last fight, but it doesn't matter. Looks like they're hell-bent on getting more PPVs than Mayweather and this is probably the only way they'll do it.

Until you have a signed contract with an opponent and a venue, you don't really have a date. This is just Team Canelo blowing smoke. Everything stands still until Mayweather announces his plans.

I really just don't get it. It makes absolutely ZERO business sense to split PPVs. Cotto is there to maximize his money count as far as we know and splitting PPVs is not one way to do that.
