Problem is HBO isn't acting like its the biggest power broker in boxing. Stevenson is making more fighting bums on free TV then Kovalev is fighting bums on HBO. That suggests to me that Beterbiev's bank account is gonna be better off on PBC than on HBO. So a one off or two off situation with HBO makes sense for a chance at a W over a P4P caliber guy with a bunch of belts, but a long term deal starts turning into a leaving money on the table situation.

The difference between Beterbiev and Stevenson is their size of balls.

Primetime on NBC is a far larger stage than HBO, without any real doubt, and that is available to Beterbiev through his partnership with Al Haymon. HBO PPV can still likely bring in more money than regular HBO or even primetime NBC, and Beterbiev also has access to Showtime PPV through his partnership with Haymon.

It's a new world out there; about time folks acknowledged it.

I remember only days ago,a poster was saying how weak LHW is in terms of match ups...to which i disagreed and replied all the division needs is a camera on these guys, the matches will come.

Got me feeling like Nostrodamus over here lol

All you have to do is go to Youtube and watch him demolish (possibly retire) Tavoris Cloud. In case you aren't aware he beat Kovalev twice in the amateurs (Kovalev fans hate it when that's brought up!)

Just found an interview of Artur in Russian. He himself says there was only one fight. There were a lot of sparring sessions though, not just one. He does not sound like he hates Kovalev or something like that.

Amatuers and pro are different battle fields. This will show how much Kovalev has grown since then.

Beterbiev is a rare breed among the "Russian style" boxers -- he's extremely rough in the close range... But if Kovalev would be able to keep distance and box him from outside, Beterbiev isn't much of a danger, imo....
