So now he has it signed that he'll fight those tune ups and then the kovalev fight.
Where are those that said he's scared of kova?
yeah, he wanted that fight SO BAD that his brilliant strategy was to remain unavailable for 2 years, and then 10 minutes after GGG signs for a unification fight, here comes Ward rattling his tin cup about fights "sometime next year".
From what I have been reading, a lot of posters seem happy with no Adonis/kov and no ward /GGG but maybe ward/kov by the end of 2016 if the deal is signed. BS kov/Pascal rematch, ward in with a bum and GGG gets another 15-1 underdog unless he goes to 155.
this. Man, if this was going down on Showtime or PBC we'd be reading so much negativity.
I'd like to see both of those fights, and Ward/Kov as well. I just am not of the belief that Wards "sometime next year" offer was in GGG's best interests. GGG has unifications on tap, and if I'm GGG, then even the possibility of getting the Cotto-Canelo winner is reason enough to pass on Wards so-called "offer"......
When Kessler rocked him in round 2 and Ward retaliated with a flying skull?
I watched that fight again the other day. I don't remember the flying skull but Kessler came to fight that night. Ward just had a brilliant gameplan.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ward gets rocked by one of these no-hopers. I thought he looked mediocre against Paul Smith. Obviously rust is at play (and age) but still.
He can fight who he wants I suppose, though if he doesn't get in some quality opposition between here and now it's going to affect him in the ring and at the negotiating table when it comes time to face the music. The S6 was a long time ago, and Ward's been irrelevant on the world stage for a while now. Mismatches against guys on undercards that no one's ever heard of (including hardcore boxing fans) are not going to whet anyone's appetite. And all the while Ward's going around thinking his shit don't stink and he can demand multi dollar purses for doing no work in return. That attitude's going to come back and bite him in the arse, if it isn't already.
