Guys, please stop using the subscription nature of these networks as excuses. It doesn't stop Game of Thrones gaining 8M viewers per episode.

Plus I don't even pay for Showtime. I went on Comcast's online chat. Asked for a free trial of Showtime and they gave me 2 years free.

People aren't watching because the promotion is ass and the fights are even worse. Haymon is becoming a master at this. Instead of J-Rock vs. Trout, either Charlo, Andrade, etc. we get some Italian bum. Nice, I'm sure everyone's really excited.

You can talk about what ratings CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN does with boxing, but it doesn't mean anything if they don't pick up the tab once these time buys end.
EXACTLY PBC can't even afford to keep paying for their own cards. Why has there been little to no PBC events this year? Why are the amount of PBC shows per month have dropped since last Sept? Despite the Network airtime already paid for PBC is deciding to not air any fights and sending everything back to Showtime instead of under the PBC brand. Dan Rafael just tweeted this out yesterday

        Dan Rafael

I'm told the 2016 #PBConESPN debut, delayed from January to April, has been pushed back again. No shows until June at this point. #boxing

PBC has done nothing but lose it's investors hundreds of millions to the point where they can barely afford to put out anymore PBC cards and in the process totally destroy Showtime Boxing. And now no boxing on ESPN for what 8 months? SMH

Hahahaha so as long as HBO pays more for boxing we have to pretend that HBO is where most fans get their boxing from?

Do you realize how ****** that sounds?

Time and time again you guys write that HBO is the #1 boxing network even though it isn't true and 3-4x as many people get their boxing from other US networks.

4 million watch Danny Garcia. 1 million watch Terence Crawford. Yet we have to sit here and pretend HBO is still the #1 boxing network?

Lol have fun playing dress up. Hope your dolls enjoy their tea . . .

The GB split with Haymon and Haymon creating PBC 2 huge factors that have crippled Showtime Boxing. And the ratings started falling all last year while Floyd was STILL fighting.
Subscriptions are down for all pay channels so it does have somewhat of an affect even though you want to force everything into your narrow viewpoint.

How much more will they be asked to pay when the time buys end?

Let us know when they actually start paying it.

so you were making a selective comparison, which ignored the full reality, which is that HBO is a very very distant third when it comes to US networks that show boxing.

and yes showtime is a distant fourth, but that doesn't change the fact that HBO is slowly becoming irrelevant. showtime is slowly becoming irrelevant too, but with haymon looking to kill off PPV and premium cable, the death of hbo & showtime works out just fine for him.
You kind of missed my point. I understand what you are saying.

Anything below a million isn't great on HBO. 300k is dogshit on Showtime. What the hell is happening there.

So you telling me subscriptions dropped by 2-3X? But only for Showtime because HBO is pulling the exact same ratings from a year and half ago while Showtime boxing ratings are down 2-3X. Subscriptions is not the story and you know it. Again the subscriptions are virtually the same for both channels as they were a year and half ago but one of them is still doing the same TV ratings for their Boxing content while the other has fallen off the cliff for Boxing content. This is all about Haymon his beef that caused the split of GB and losing GB as the promoter of his fights and getting 3rd rate promoters instead plus him taking all showtime fighters and bouncing them around other networks with the failed PBC has crippled Showtime. That's the obvious line in the sand moment when things went terribly south for Showtime ratings.
