Anyone really believe Floyd is remotely close to being TBE ?

Well how many men have fought in the history of boxing? And Floyd is generally inside top 25 all time.

So considering those two factors yea he is certainly remotely close even if he really didn't threaten the top name to most reasonable observers. Even this sort of conversation shows he got remotely close, if that wasn't the case no would even talk abut the subject~

Depends entirely on how you are thinking about the question. In the context of all fighters who ever lived? Yes he is close. Extremely close.

If you are asking if he is maybe a few good wins away from being GOAT, then no. He isnt. He would maybe have to double the amount of top wins he has to be in contention for top 5, or he would need several prime ATG's in there. Unfortunately some of the fighters at the top have a twice the amount of top wins plus several ATG's on their resume.

The standard is insanely high. This is a 100+ year old sport. Not every 'best in their generation' is going to be up in the top 5 all time.

Floyd has a better record, he is undefeated. You spoke of the three all time great Mexicans. Floyd shut one out, Manny lost to Morales then beat him after Zahir Raheem beat him and Barrera never moved up to fight Floyd.

Floyd beat Manny head to head. You say six years too late, well we know Freddy Roach admitted they are the reason the fight wasn't made earlier. Secondly Floyd is older than Manny. And third yes he beat him.

That's my opinion and who someone believes is the best ever is subjective, figured you'd understand the difference with a tag like Mr. Objectivity. Also it's not ducking if your retired and were never fighting at the same weight class, just saying that is what it would take to push him over the top in my book.
