that sounds about right anybody who has him in the top 20 DONT KNOW CRAP ABOUT BOXING. some of the blame falls on Floyd for not fighting fighters in there primes and this era has been weak also didn't help him move up the list

I have no problem putting Floyd topn20, but thats me being generous. I'm trying to ignore and I'm not taking into account many of his best wins were past prime and smaller than him. I'm ignoring that he never fought outside backyard

He's one of the greatest to ever fight. He's clearly within the top 30 or so, which in itself is amazing.

1. No way is he in contention to be considered TOP 10 ever. that much is clear. anybody who disagree should have their boxing fan card revoked.

2. His resume is the weakest of a so called ATG in his generation.

Let's not go overboard, here. There's definitely a lot of upcoming potential and talent. Hate it or love it, but Roman G. is probably the closest to being the latest to be called an ATG.


Leonard's win over Halger trumps anything in Floyd's career (who still is a top 15 ATG, IMO) Leonard moved from WW to MW for that fight.

Also: I truly believe Roy Jones did the most impressive feat in boxing history. MW to HW, who the **** does that?

Roman has a while before I call him the greatest of all time. And SRL's hagler win is cool, but it was a very close fight.

He didnt humiliate him. Floyd was 37yrs old and Canelo was 22yrs old. Floyd was 150lbs, and Canelo was 165lbs. Its legendary that a man of those circumstances is able to even BEAT a guy that big.

But he didnt beat him. He walked him down and didnt get touched by a single punch.

Im sorry but if you want to say SRL's win over Hagler is better, okay cool. But considering the circumstances of Floyd's age, size, and power disadvantage, his win is WAAAY better.

And not even that. His perFORMANCE at those circumstances, will NEVER EVER happen again.

And cool that Roy was able to do what he did. But 80% of Floyd's opponents are way bigger and stronger than him.

The reason I took SRL's hieght, power, and reach is to put him at the same circumstances as Floyd. WITH those traits, SRL STILL didnt perform as flawless as Floyd. Sure he won, but not in such flawless ways Floyd won!

And Floyd doesnt have long arms. I understand that Tail of The Tape and boxrec make it seem like his arms are longer than everyone, and he is taller than everyone.

But that is absurdity. Pacman and JMM are his only opponents in recent times that he was taller than, and had longer arms than.


Canelo, Ghost, and a slew of others were WAAAY taller in the ring, and had WAAY longer arms. Matter of fact, I think Pac's arms are longer than Floyd.

I think Floyd is by far, without a question, the greatest fighter in the history of professional pugilism. He took what Bruce Lee did in films, and actually did it in the ring. He was Bruce Leeing these opponents. Its amazing actually.

Manny having a better resume than Floyd and has accomplished greater is an objective agreement that most boxing pundits had. You can't debate it, debate resume Floyd vs Pac? Pac wins no matter how you circle around it. Who accomplished more in the boxing world? Pac wins it, you can't circle around it. The only thing Floyd has over manny is the undefeated record and him winning over him.

It's like Duran over Hagler. And saying otherwise is either motivated by hate of the fighter (Manny) or being an obsessive groupie of his favorite fighter (Floyd).

Pac's resume at the higher weights is AWFUL. He strategically fought a bunch of meaningless fights, where the fighters were never doing anything meaningful.

While all these young giant fighters faced eachother, and Floyd always fought whoever had the most meaningful victory.

I think Pac wanted to face easy fights so he could remain undefeated until him and Floyd faced eachother. Floyd fought back to back young giants who outweighed him by 15lbs. He didnt worry about remaining undefeated until Pac came along. He took risky fights, remained untouched, then beat Pac, and went out undefeated.

He beat a 22 year old boxer who fought drained. A guy not at the pinnacle of his physical performance. A guy not at the peak of his boxing talents. A guy who was weakened and suffered fatigue because he had to push to make weight.

That doesn't compare to Leonard moving up technically two weight classes by today's standards, to fight a guy considered a top 3 middleweight of all time.

There's absolutely no comparison between the two.
