Comments Thread For: Abel Sanchez: Maybe Mayweather Faces Thurman-Garcia Winner

LAS VEGAS To be clear, Abel Sanchez is much more concerned with Gennady Golovkin's future opponents. Golovkin's trainer hopes a much-discussed Golokvin-Danny Jacobs middleweight championship clash takes place sometime in March and leads Golovkin to a pay-per-view showdown with Canelo Alvarez in September.

Why is Abel Sanchez quoted so much on the site, it is a joke, who cares he is only a trainer, and not relavant when he speaks

I dont see how Mayweather doesn't fight Swift after a Thurman win with all the bodies he's racked up; people been sleeping on Swift truth be told with his resume he should have been p4p top 3 for 3-4 years now

well GGG is the current king of overrated(he is a good fighter not a proven Great yet) offensive minded fighters. the media beats drums for the guy and his fans make Abel out to be a guru, no different than Roach who had one truly great fighter in manny, a stable of fighters who were already developed or champions before he got them.

Roach got so many undeserved accolades because of manny and his condition, its not even fair or funny.

it'll pass once GGG starts fighting top guys and his fights are more competitive....if he loses it will die down.

I agree. I don't want to see May-Pac. I also don't care for GGG vs Mayweather but I could dig it (he outweights him by about 20 lbs on fight nights, right?). I'm not feeling Canelo-May for the same reason, but the rematch gives it a little more intrigue. Thurman - Garcia winner, Brook vs. Spence winner, Cotto, Crawford, maybe Broner, maybe Bradley.. I think I'm good with all of these. May-Pac? Nahhh... He says he's retired though. Let's let him be if that's the case...

you may not wanna see MayPac 2 but it's hands down the most lucrative match for Floyd. it sure as hell won't crack 4M homes again, but it will most definitely surpass 1M, which is way more than Floyd vs Thurman/Garcia.

Everytime someone says the Mayweather Pacquiao fight was a dud or happened too late it makes me laugh. LOL...it's the highest grossing fight of all time. When you don't properly build up a fight you get a Kovalev Ward situation where it doesn't sell. Blame Manny's.... ahem... "shoulder"...on the lack of action

Who keeps interviewing this guy seriously. Boxingscene must be running out of material.

I disagree. I think Mayweather vs. Canelo II @ 154, or Mayweather vs. Golovkin @ 154, would do better than Mayweather vs. Pacquiao II. Canelo's fan base is bigger than Pacquiao's now, and Mayweather vs. Canelo II on Cinco De Mayo 2017 would easily outsell Mayweather vs. Canelo I.

MayPac 1 was way more competitive than May/Canelo..that was a total wipeout. how will they convince people to buy in to that.. MayPac 2 at least has that angle of Manny now being healed of his shoulder problems. .Floyd beats him again anyway but we're talking about which fight does bigger numbers. .personally I could care less about PPV numbers but we know that's what drives Floyd. after Pacquiao the most lucrative match is GGG. .then it's Canelo. after those three you can throw in Thurman/Garcia winner..and even further away you have Broner, Bradley, Porter, Spence and Lara.
