Prime for prime it's a great fight and I'd edge Floyd, but wouldn't be surprised if Oscar won.

    Mosley never beats Floyd
True, floyd was considered still in his prime in a sense. The prime Floyd I'm talking about was at the lower weights when he was stopping dudes. De La Hoya stood NO CHANCE against that floyd EVER. You can say what you want. I consider it a super fight but not a 50/50 fight.

People forget Floyd is a small welterweight. In his best shape, Floyd never weighed more than 151/152lbs. In any of his fights ever, and thats with him trying to put additional weight on. Due to a couple of his fights being Contested at either 154 or a catch weight of 152lbs.

None of these dudes were ****ing with him at lower weight classes. Hell, they weren't ****ing with him when he was at his maxed out weight, slower with less punching power and they outweighed him on fight night. These are facts- not opinion.

"Mosley never beats Floyd" thanks for dropping that gem on us captain obvious .

I've already said Floyd would've been peak at 135/140. DLH is very live at those weights.

DLH beat Genaro first THEN Floyd

When both were a bit younger and in their prime then not much doubt, Mosley and De La Hoya beat Mayweather by quite a big margin of victory.

Part of the reason why Mosley lost his fight against Floyd was because he thought speed and power could carry the day. I like Mosley, but if you look at his career Mosley was matched primarily against Latin fighters because stylistically they were good match ups (including DLH). Mosley struggled with technically sound fighters (Forrest and Wright) and would have struggled with Mayweather in his prime as well. I looked at a couple of Mosley's135 fights and his speed was equal to Floyd and he wasn't much bigger but technically, he was far behind Floyd. Certainly a prime Mosley gives Floyd a better fight but I still see him losing. DLH struggled with Whitaker who was a technical fighter with great defense. Floyd in his prime would be a bigger, faster, younger version. DLH loses too.

I don't necessarily disagree with Mosely. However, there are a few things you have to take into consideration. Yes, Oscar was probably stronger and punched harder than Mayweather. In Shane's mind that makes him a better fighter. As boxing fan I know those attributes don't guarantee you a victory. We just saw a stronger fighter with big punch get brutally KO'd by a light punching fighter. There are a lot of attributes that Mayweather possess that made him a better fighter than De la Hoya.

Again, Mosely might've been able to do more against Mayweather if they fought earlier. He was faster and a harder puncher. I remember the HBO crew commenting that Mosely seemed faster than Mayweather, which I kinda agreed at the time. Being faster didn't get him the win then and it wouldn't made a difference if the fight was earlier. Mosely would've probably thrown more punches and missed alot more. I also doubt Mayweather would've got caught with that overhand right earlier in his career. This fight would've been more competitive but I still think Mayweather would've beat Mosely.

De la Hoya beat only ONE fighter in both their prime which was Ike Quartey in a very close fight. Nuff said.

But I don't agree with Shane about Floydie being the best. He himself just said Oscar and Shane didn't fight Floydie at the right times. That's a Floydie trademark... wait out a fighter til he's faded. The list is long in that regard. And he juiced his last dozen or so fights.
T.B.E. was ducked by Shane & Oscar when they were at their "prime" which should tell you all you need to know.
