Comments Thread For: Menayothin Nears Defense To Snap Mayweather's 50-0 Record

IT is not the first time there has been plenty of fowl play in boxing. But this week could see a fighter called Five-Star Grilled Chicken' eclipse Floyd Mayweather. Last weekend, Billy Joe Saunders was chucking cooked poultry at Deontay Wilder in Nandos.

Quite a few fighters have already snapped Mayweather's "record" a long time ago. This is nothing special.

it is a good record, but it suffers for the same reason as Golovkin

      no names

statistical records mean very little historically, including Mayweather's

WHO, with consideration given to when/how..... is all that matters

How many of those wins have been meaningful, though?

He should fight Knockout CP Freshmart. They're both unbeaten, both champions, both countrymen. They're rated 1 and 2 by Ring Magazine so the winner gets to be Ring Champion. I think the only discussion that takes place about this guy is purely based around the numbers in his record, and partially due to that and partly to him operating in an obscure weight class the fact that he's got an unbeaten champion rival-in-waiting in the same division, in the same country, goes undiscussed.

No they didn't. They ended up losing or getting a draw before returning. Floyd and Rocky retired undefeated with the 49-0+ records. Lopez has a blemish.

I am sick of you Chavez fans. Straight haters. Frankie Randell put it on your HERO. It's been over.

                    Yes they did.

I wasn't talking about retiring undefeated, I was saying quite a few fighters surpassed 50-0 long before mayweather. Whether they retired undefeated is a separate matter.
