I always think a standing count could be used in more situations in boxing. I don't know the exact rules as to when it is used but I think it could be used more to avoid controversies.

No way he was out Davis could have unloaded 10 more shots nonstop. Nunez was cooked.

Really in this case, as Nunez was being held up by the ropes, the ref should have ruled a knockdown. The ref had to step-in certainly, to do nothing would have been a much bigger mistake than calling a stoppage rather than a kd.

Whose idea was Nunez in the first place. Oh yeah there was a groundswell of Nunez supporters demanded the fight. They were yelling, we want Nunez on the news. His impeccable record and skill preceded him. He didn't need no stinking ref.
