Comments Thread For: Hearn: Davis A Bigger Name, Should Get 60-40 For Farmer Fight

NEW YORK Eddie Hearn praised Floyd Mayweather and Leonard Ellerbe for how they've gone about building Gervonta Davis into a star. The British promoter now knows how hard it is to sell boxing tickets in the United States, thus he was beyond impressed with the capacity crowd of 14,686 that turned out for Davis' last fight, July 27 in his hometown of Baltimore. Hearn readily admits Davis is a bigger star than Tevin Farmer, the 130-pound champion Hearn's company co-promotes.

davis should get way more than 60%

    probably 75%

    showtime offered farmer 2mil

    dazn offered davis 5 mil

presuming showtime would have given davis 5 mil themselves, thats a 70-30 split which is fair

the notion that showtime or davis' team are blocking the fight is false

Hearn is an idiot. I’m the furthest to being a Tank fan. But Farmer is the epitome of a boxer who is an absolute nobody. Outside boxing circles nobody know him and within those boxing circles they don’t want to see him fight.

      60-40 split??

Honestly it should be 80-20 in favor of Tank or because Farmer has a belt maybe 75-25.

Farmer is trash, so boring and not as slick as advertised.

PBC Bum-boys doing a complete U-Turn on their "it takes two to fight" reasoning for Wilders 40/50% split argument in 1... 2... 3...

Hearn is so slick lol and he thinks people can’t see that he is trying to use Davis to sell subscriptions to dazn. He was so impressed by the tickets Davis sold in Baltimore and he has never been able to put up those numbers without golden boy. Everyone knows dazn is paying over market value in order to outspend the competition....he’s trying to use the public to put pressure on TMT to put the fight on dazn. The guilt trips he uses seemingly in favour of the fighters is truly hilarious. I’m sure the Hearn minions are lapping it up.

Exactly....no one knows farmer because he was a small name who then went to the app based approach and then he even fell out of boxing fan view. Showtime knows this isn’t a Ppv level fight. It’s much of a muchness from dazn, an attempt to outspend the competition with a billionaires money

Showtime has done a great job with Davis. Fight should be on showtime and if the fight warrants a rematch it should be on DAZN.

If you can't sell Farmer on DAZN, but Floyd can sell Tank on SHO/FOX, then do what's right, and let Farmer fight on SHO/FOX! Secondly, just be quiet and let Lou DiBella do the negotiating and the talking! Lastly, how much would Farmer get for fighting Jo Jo Diaz on DAZN? Will he get $2M? If not, why?

Oh, by the way, FightHype released a video on August 26th where Leo Santa Cruz said his next fight will be at 130 in November vs. TBA! Better move fast Eddie!

I don't care where the fight happens, but I'm getting tired of hearing about it. Just ****ing fight.
