Lomachenko is on video saying that he wasn't going to fight Mikey next after his surgery. Mikey saw the writing on the wall and figured he wasn't going to wait around forever for Arum to MAYBE give him that fight for the right price and with no options attached.

Mikey Garcia is a great tallent but not sure about his decision making. Yea, spence was not a good idea. To make things better and to forget that 147 charge why doesn't Mikey throw himself into the 140 mix. I believe he can compete with that division and by beating the likes of Jose, Regis, Taylor etc.. That would prove more to me than anyone at 147. It's a much better division with much better champions who earned their belts and eraned each defense of those belts. Not saying he will beat them but a Mikey Garcia who belives in himself at a more natural weight is a handfull to anyone. BTW the list of opponents at 140 champ or not is a grab bag of tallent. They all would make great fights to look forward to.

Vargas already won a world title at 147 stopping the undefeated Sadam Ali back then for the vacant WBO belt. (Crawford got beat by Ali in the amateurs)
