Comments Thread For: Gamboa: I Ruptured My Achilles Tendon - But I'm a Warrior!

Yuriorkis Gamboa believes that he suffered a serious injury during the second round of his clash with Gervonta Davis on Saturday night at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Fighting past the ninth round for the first time, Davis (23-0, 22 KOs) closed the show when he dropped Gamboa for the third time in the twelfth and final round, forcing referee Jack Reiss to wave off the fight.

    Believes he has eh

The lad was able to box for near 30 minutes on this so called crippling injury

I bet if he had won we wouldn’t be hearing a peep about this ankle nonsense

Warriors don't complain. They go about their business as if nothing happened. They never say ''but''

So now Gamboa was faking it
And even if he was that still can’t save Tank

Tank did an even worse turn your head maneuver some time in the early mid rounds I think it was. Though Gamboa was out of range at least, he was standing in the middle of the ring and turned his head all the way around the look back at his corner. What was he looking for? Visual instructions? PUNCH HIM NOW, WITH YOUR FIST, YEAH LIKE THIS *DOES PUNCHING MOTION*

Aside from demonstrating that he keeps his punching power until the final minute, I don't think Tank did himself any favor last night.

Based on this performance I would now make him a serious underdog against Lomachenko, and I'd even give a shot to Teofimo Lopez to beat him.

Gervonta has great skills to match his power. But his tendency to get fat might ultimately symbolize his undoing.
