Comments Thread For: Kell Brook: There's No Rehydration Clause In Contracts For Crawford Fight

Kell Brook believes size will be one of his biggest advantages against Terence Crawford. Their 12-round, 147-pound championship match will mark the first time in six welterweight world title fights that Brook won't have to adhere to a rehydration restriction the day after he weighs in November 13. Each of his first five welterweight championship bouts were contested for the IBF 147-pound crown, which prevented Brook from adding more than 10 pounds above the welterweight limit for second-day weigh-ins conducted the mornings of those fights.

Yep. It changes things. Although the main event should be a fun scrap, Haney vs Gamboa should have been on the undercard of this fight. I don’t even know who’s on the undercard despite the fight being a week away.

Edit. For some reason I thought Haney was with TR. Forgot he was with DAZN and Hearn.

As I see it, regardless of Brook's fight weight, Crawford will win this fight; however, boxing needs to have same day as fight day weigh in. It worked in the past; it will work once again.

Whenever a guy is super confident about coming down in weight I always think it's either 1. lies or 2. they dropped weight too early in camp like DLH, Dawson did.

LOL it doesnt matter. Kell is one of the most over rated boxers anyway. Who did he beat? Porter and.. LOL. Cool, he stepped up to the plate and lost to Earl Spence and GGG. Hes a C- fighter now.

To be fair that Porter win is pretty good for Brook.

Porter was undefeated and he came to the US to do it.

But yeah Crawford might stop him. No idea why he took the Golovkin fight.

                Brook it won’t matter anyhow

The problem with Crawford won’t be weight and it’s not a big factor as long as you make it the 1st day. The talent and speed gap is however your problem!

IDK about that. Kell Brook schooled Porter, a guy who has beaten or gone life and death with many of the division elite. That win is seriously underrated. Kell was also arguably winning the fight against Errol Spence before getting stopped in the 11th with that eye socket problem. His only other loss came stepping up to a P4P Top 5 opponent two weight classes higher. He hasn't looked sharp in recent fights, and he's not likely ever going to be a HOF guy, but his credentials are more than well-established at WW.

Having said this, he's not on Crawford's level (no one at WW is). Brook will probably have some moments in the early going but I see TC picking him apart by the 3rd round and maybe stopping him inside of 5. He'll come up short, no doubt, but he's not an unworthy challenger.

Sounds good, probably not going to work. These eyes injuries are career enders. It's good that he can earn a dollar before he retires to set himself up, but they have to stop the fight at the first sign of anything being wrong with the eye. So I don't really take the fight seriously since there's a high probability that Terence is going to land and as soon as he really does the fight will be stopped.

Hopefully nobody gets permanently hurt, and hopefully we get to see Terence against the other top guys at 147 before he's already over the hill, which won't be long after 1 year from now as he's 33 already.
