Start doing neck excercises to strenthen that neck and most importantly start moving ur head...... head movement = less headaches

Getting your bell rung happens. Get good headgear -- it helps -- and strengthen your neck.

Don't spar with a headache. Ever.

No matter what you THINK it is -- and whether it's muscle strain, a slight cervical misliagnment, stress, vasodilation, or a mild concussion that your trainer didn't catch, getting popped in the head will make it worse. If your head hurts, DO NOT SPAR.

your making it sound like he will drop dead the instant he steps in the ring with a headache

i say as long as the headache isnt terrible and you can concentrate without being too affected by the headache get in and spar...it'll toughen you up

what you gonna do in the middle of a fight when your ears are ringing and ya heads aching? quit? you gotta learn to deal with pain

                    I said spar, not fight.

There are plenty of things you can do at your gym the day after you get your bell rung. There's no need to spar heavy two days in a row

And Second Impact Syndrome WILL kill you dead.

Unless you go to a doctor and have a full neurological workup, it's hard to know whether or not your next-day headache is benign. Most of the time it's probably just a muscle strain. The other times it's a concussion, and mild concussions are more common than you think. (I used to hand out concussions like some people hand out sticks of gum.) Who wants that chance? If you had a mild concussion the night before, and you get another one, YOU CAN DIE.

In a sport like this one, that combines full-force blows to the head with unnecessary chest-thumping machismo and often a staggering ignorance of physiology, the safe bet is to go ahead and work out, just not spar.
