    Concussion after Sparring yesterday.

I started sparring for the first time the other week, and although I wasn't that good I went back for the sparring sessions this week since I want to get better.
I sparred about four times last night, and from what people were saying, I had improved in some areas.

However, I got hit several times during the sparring sessions and at one point got a busted nose.
After I'd arrived home I began to feel very light headed accompanied with a headache and I puked and began to feel very paranoid thinking I was going to die or something (sounds ridiculous when I look back of it).
I had to be taken to A+E where I was examined told what was wrong and to take it easy for the next few weeks.

I'm still wanting to box but I really don't want anything like this to happen again as it was one of the worst feelings I've ever felt in my life. Is it a bad sign that I suffered a brain injury so easily?

Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this and what should I do?

Do you use headgear and 16oz gloves?

Did you have headgear on? Sounds obvious but roll your head with punches dont try and resist them.... and if it gets bad in sparring there is no embrassment on getting on your bike and moving away until you regain composure and that also kills time and reduces the number of blows.

Yes I was wearing headgear and I sparred for 4 separate 2 minute rounds through a 45 minute period.

Think about your game plan if you are getting tagged, isnt cool getting concussed!!! Mines simply to get far away as I can to kill time in that round and try harder next round.

Boxing is a tough sport. It's dangerous for everyone, but for some, more so than others. Listen to your body. We weren't designed to get punched in the head. If you feel the passion to go out and give it another shot after you heal, that's your option. But, if you get hurt like that again, give it up, boxing may not be for you.

You shouldn't be in heated sparring matches as a beginner. Your trying to learn, not trying to prove what kind of beating you can take. Your trainers are recklessly, you should seek a new gym.

What your trainers are doing is dangerous and pointless.
