You're not losing permanent weight using a sweatsuit, only waterweight. So it's for short term weight loss, really. Which means losing those last 3-6 pounds before a fight (which you should be extremely careful doing, until you KNOW how your body reacts to it).
Training in a sweatsuit on a regular basis will only hurt you in the long run, as your training will suffer for it. As you lose water during a training, your ability to do work decreases dramatically, meaning it feels harder, but you're actually doing less than you could have without the sweatsuit. sweating alll the water out, and having to rehydrate again, every training, also puts additional pressure on your system, which means your recovery (the positive gains you get from your training) will be diverted towards that.
