If you want something more than "pew pew" and strafing, Gears of War 4 has an incredibly deep movement/cover mechanic system. That's my #1 FPS because the movement is sick. The movement and counters make it feel like a martial art to me because you're not just popping out and putting shots into someone, you're able to quickly dart round and dodge shots while getting in your own at various angles. Very intense and fast paced. I've taken out 5 man clusters just by wall-bouncing around them and outplaying them.
I like that it also has characters too, with personalities, instead of generic soldiers.
The only other FPS I play right now is Fortnite but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I only play it because a couple of girls I'm good friends with play it and it gives us a chance to hang out and chat.
The play mechanics are pretty bad and 'building' isn't really an exciting feature to me. Should be more of a character class thing, not an essential game element. -
