Folks getting sick doesn't negate the freedom argument. It doesn't matter how effective a mask is or how many anti-maskers get sick. What matters is, is forcing people to comply an overreach of government.
To make it relative but more benign and less politicized, think about how chicken noodle soup doesn't actually cure **** all but a bunch of americans eat that ****s when their sick as some kind of remedy or quickener. Now imagine if the government said science has proven chicken noodle soup is less effective than drugs so it's now illegal to eat chicken noodle soup for colds and whatnot and justified that by saying it's to promote effective drugs, therapies, and such remedies to minimize bull**** cures that don't work and are dangerous for the population to believe in? Clear overreach en-it?
I'm not anti-mask. I still have one in my car and will wear it anywhere I see masked people because I don't want to scare anyone, but, I don't think it's the government's responsibility to micromanage how people stay healthy or fight a sickness.
