- - In my day, ie the Civil Rights Era in Texas, starting early 70s the Black demographic along with Veterans got preferred hiring bonus (10)points for qualifying state job tests that led to preferred University admission point advantages.
Texas started shifting from ******** to Republic in the mid 80s, so I don't know if those state job bonus points are still in effect, but in spite of repeated efforts to repeal preferred Uni admission standards here, they not only remain in place, but have expanded with additional sophisticated criteria.
I suspect such or other variations were or still are the case in other Rep/Dem states. Since most states east of the Mississippi have swapped out traditional political party affiliations across the infamous Mason Dixon line, ie Abolitionist Rep States now Dem, and Slaver Dems now Rep, it would take a massive set of supercomputers and genii intellects to consolidate 160 years of records where much has been lost into a credible algorithm that would yield credible interpretive results.
In the meantime, misanthropic anthropoids will continue beat each other up literally and figuratively since they ain't never evolved out of their apish posturing, screaming predispositions, and so the beat goes on as Sonny and Cher used to croon.
