Because that’s not how our legal system is set up. Cops are not the judges, juries and executioners - nor should they be.

I’m saddened to see this story but we have to maintain ‘due process’ of the law in this country

I wish they would, too. Hell, you've got them dead to rights. It's just like a mass shooter. You know they did it and they're giving up. Kill that f v c k. He doesn't deserve a trial.

Its understandable to feel that way Larry... There are crimes that are so bad that it really makes one want to act according to natural law. Unfortunately we have to be better than that...

I studied and taught ethics, and look at these situations carefully. It seems to me that if you look at A Chinese ethical understanding it works well for these type of individuals. In Asian thinking, one is not born with inalienable rights, like the West understands a human being to have. So, for example, ******** is not a problem to Asian ethics... According to Confucius it would naturally be a woman's decision... because the fetus does not have any rights attached to it, while the women has the rights afforded to her in the hierarchy of being a women, a parent, someone's daughter, etc.

My point would be: If a human being truly commits an act that is obvious (we know they did it), henious, and violent, then that individual has shown he is not a human being. Therefore, he has no rights, which he gave up when he acted as he did... and he can be treated like a rabid dog. It is more complicated in the West because it is assumed that a person, automatically has rights that are part of his/her being.
