    Solar powered generators.

Anybody on here own one/have experience with them?

Live in Northern California, so not only thinking about blackouts during this kinda crazy winter we have been hit with, but also "roaming blackouts/brownouts" during the summer.

Yes Im an enthusiast with these things and my wife has been getting so annoyed lol. Wow you live in North Cali? That's the best.

I have several solar generators that I use daily at home and outdoors.

Are you looking for emergency use or to power up the entire home?

I highly recommend Bluetti AC200 Max with 2200W/2045WH and it's expandable as well up to 8192WH which is more than enough to keep you powered up for days. This particular model is on a huge sale right now.

Bluetti and Ecoflow makes the best solar stations right now.

Been looking at both Bluetti and Ecoflow joints.

My case use is more for power outages moreso than "off the grid" use.

      Thanks for the input, bud.

Anytime. I hope you find the best generator for your needs. How long do power outages last there usually?

Been fortunate this winter, and not one.

          Yet.

Have had some heatwaves over the years and had things shutdown, but only for a few hours.

Don't need anything crazy, something to keep a fridge and freezer going, wifi, maybe small television.

How well do these work when there's storms? Do you get enough sun?

As far as the solar power charging function, probably not very well.

Nah, my plan would to keep the unit charged pretty much up to capacity using AC, and break it out when I need it. Winter time.

Sac in the summer? Good panels and plugs, can use the unit as a pass-through charging station.

Have an ancient gas Harbor Frieght joint, but I don't trust that thing more then I can throw it.

Yeah summers are murder in sac. I was thinking during storms.
I bought a champion from Costco thats propane and gas. The boat is 50 gallons so I can use that if needed for fuel.

I cut a extension cord and made two male ends. Plug in one end to a plug. Turn off the power from the grid at your breaker. Turn on the generator and bam you have power. It's limited but it will run the fan on the natural gas heater and fridges and some lights.

                  Gotcha.

You should look into some of these higher end joints, bud.

Stackable battery power, 240, 20+ kilowatts, 2 kilowatt charging.

Not cheap, but these lithium phosphate joints are starting to make sense.

I sent a few to my mom a few years back, they work greatly well!
