I feel like I'm weird because I liked the first terrifier more when most people liked the sequel more

No that’s not that weird.

Theres actually a lot of people who didn’t like the 2nd one that much.

The opinions that I actually see a lot of:

- People liked how Terrifier 1 had a gritty, creepy, dirty feeling to it.

- Terrifier 1 was a lot scarier.

- People didn’t think Terrifier 2 was scary.

- Terrifier 2 was too long.

- Terrifier 2 plot was confusing and didn’t make sense.

- A lot of people didn’t like the fantasy elements introduced in Terrifier 2.

These are reasons I usually see on Reddit why people prefer 1 over 2.

I for one thought Terrifier 2 had a lot going for it. I liked the vivid colors. I loved the soundtrack. Of course the gore and kills were amazing.

I liked how ambitious it was. It tried to be different from a lot of standard slashers. At times, it felt like Damien Leone was kind of throwing too much at you, but I never actually got bored and checked out of the movie. That’s really saying something for a slasher that’s 2 hrs and 18 min long.

Okay, towards the end, maybe the last 20 min or so I started to feel the length of the film, but if he edited it down some, he easily could trim it to an hour 45.

I thought Terrifier 2 felt like a rollercoaster when I first saw it I thought it was very exciting.

Terrifier 1 started out excellent. I love how creepy it felt in the first half. But something changed around the halfway mark where it got a little stale. It just became a case of “introduce new character. 5 min of screen time. Kill. Repeat.” And not much else.

Terrifier 1 was great for 40 min or so, but without a proper story, it can’t stand on its own as a full length film. And it’s a slasher. It doesn’t need a complex, in depth story. But Terrifier 1 is just a barebones story, even by slasher standards.

But all the kills were great and it was still fun, I just think the 1st half was much better than the 2nd half.

So that’s why I think the 2nd ones better.

Yeah I liked the first one better because it was more mysterious, gritty like you said and I liked the main girl more. When I watched the second I wasn't as interestedm I probably watch it over one day before 3rd one since I didn't finish it

The ending gets a little weird that’s all I’ll say. And they got a mid credits scene too.
